Very Cool! I love the Exponential Audio reverbs. Some of those vocal effects I heard in the audio examples for Excalibur are almost worth the price of admission by themselves. Very musical and flexible effects unit. Thank You Motion.
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

hmmm... audio demos aren't doing much for me in terms of sound design... sounds like some vanilla fx for 'traditional' guitar/bass/drum type production .... 'piano in a bottle' is the only one I found vaguely interesting.
I think exponential audio should elevate their understanding of sound design somewhat, and represent it in the demos... you know, get some abstract soundscapes and fx on the go and put those in the audio demos. I'm sure it's bound to be possible with this plugin, but it's just not represented in the audio demos.
interest fading.

Sounds pretty good to me. Does it do anything new though..? Wondering what makes it stand out from the crowd of other plugins / plugin combinations that can provide the same effects.

It looks as though it's modelled on or at least inspired by the Eventide H3000. Personally, a lot will hinge on the flexibility of the modulation unless he's gone for the vintage sound in a "more like the H3000 than the Eventide plug-in" way.

I suppose it's impossible not to think of the H3000 when you're talking effects. But my inspiration came from my years--many years ago now--with large modular synthesizers (Arp 2500 in particular). There was just something fun about connecting things in odd ways to see what happens. I don't remember the specifics but I once built a 2600 patch that turned it into an adding machineGamma-UT wrote:It looks as though it's modeled on or at least inspired by the Eventide H3000

Just had a look at the schematic for the signal path from Exponential Audio, hope you don't mind me grabbing/posting this Michael.Looks like this is capable of getting very cool for sound design.

Sounds pretty good to my ears. Also, I love the colour scheme of Excalibur; looks great. Good job Michael. I look forward to trying it out

Of course it's a matter of taste, but a high-end sound in a "traditional" way is not a bad thing.Daags wrote:hmmm... audio demos aren't doing much for me in terms of sound design... sounds like some vanilla fx for 'traditional' guitar/bass/drum type production ....
I personally am really impressed by the superb quality that the demos present. And to be honest, when i'm in a production I'm always glad if there is something that's really reliable.
And since Phoenix and R2 are doing the vast majority of my reverberation i think it's quite probable that i will get this one too...

I'm reminded a little bit of my Quadraverb GT (chorus, flanger, resonators, ring mod, reverb, filters, distortion, EQ). Interesting...
Still want to get the reverbs one day too.

This plugin is probably overkill for my needs but the audio demos sound really good, especially the general chorus, vocal effects and piano in a bottle one. Phoenixverb is by far my favorite reverb plugin, so if it is on the same level quality wise I may have to pick it up.

Personally I find this type of bread and butter demos highly appropriate - "abstract soundscapes and fx" do nothing for me and I guess for the bulk of potential customers neither... I however think the quality of some of the demos leaves something to be desired... namely the "wide vocal fattener" and the "talking bass 2" are rather weak (perfomance-wise, production-wise and in regards to the actual Excalibur preset that is being showcased). Others are very good - in fact good enough that I am already relatively certain that I'll have to get myself a license...Daags wrote:hmmm... audio demos aren't doing much for me in terms of sound design... sounds like some vanilla fx for 'traditional' guitar/bass/drum type production .... "Preamps have literally one job: when you turn up the gain, it gets louder." Jamcat, talking about presmp-emulation plugins.
