Hey there! I'm new here. Am I in the right place to share my music visualizers with you?
The video is done in After Effects. No plugins have been used, except Optical Flares plugin. Be sure to switch on full HD.

This template is available for free download (check the link in the video description). It's compatible with Adobe After Effects CS4 or above. No plugins required. You can easily add your music track, artist name, track name, cover art and set a custom background image or video. This template includes 7 color presets or you can setup a custom color scheme in a few clicks.

This music visualizer is pretty dark and gloomy. It's done with After Effects. No plugins have been used, except Optical Flares plugin.

Yeah, they're pretty. I've actually wanted some for my own music for my Youtube channel, but I could never be bothered, not to mention purchasing After Effects seems like a rather pricey barrier to entry just for some silly little visualizers.
But, I don't really update my Youtube channel that often....so...like I said...seems pointless.
But, your visualizers are pretty. I don't really have much else to say
they're visualizers....
I mean, the spectrum analyzer one makes no sense as an analyzer. The first one has a smokey circle...that...spins...not really with anything. It just....spins...might bounce to the music, but the circle itself...just spins....It's not even like the smokey circle rotates with the seconds or anything...it's just there to look pretty. And the last one...it's....dark...and has bright lights...cool.
what do you want me to say? GG?

Hey, let me share two more audio visuals for those who didn't check them out on my channel
Who doesn't like flickering particles? ) This video was done in After Effects using Trapcode Particular and Optical Flares plugins.
This one is inspired by futuristic sci-fi interfaces. After Effects, no plug-ins have been used.
MUST be watched in HD!

Again; not sure what you want me to say here as this isn't exactly my specialty. They are pretty. They have bright, contrasting colours that make them pop and then there's stuff that moves with the music...
I guess if you really want me to leave some semblance of an opinion on the 2 additional ones is:
the first I guess is pretty, but the little dot tends to dance a little too close to the edge of the video, and once again, the dot makes a circle, but why? the rotations it makes isn't in sync with anything, it just seems to be there. Maybe I don't understand the "fine art of music visualizers set to Wurbshtep"
The second, again, it's a pretty looking visual, though the camera dancing around is weird. On the other hand, I guess it would look pretty plain without it. But, needless to say, it's to sporadic and makes me feel sick when watching it in full screen (which is weird because I almost never EVER get motion sickness from motion video)
Also, not that I am going to sit here and study it, but something tells me that just like the spectrum analyzer visual above which had the illusion of being a spectrum analyzer but was actually completely useless and wrong, I would wager the supposed "left and right" visuals on this video are just there for flashy purposes but don't actually reflect the audio signals coming from the left and right channel.
...probably picked a bad song choice too, for this forum. I obviously cannot speak for the rest of the community members, but I am not a fan of the "phat ass step" - and I feel like most other members feel the same way - so my attention span on your posted videos was minimal at best.

Hey, thanks for such a feedback! )
There is more: the balance indicator, the timeline progress bar, the radial audio spectrum, they all are accurately driven by the actual sound. Change the sound and the visual will be different.
Think of it like of a rotation of vinyl records or reels.ntom wrote:and once again, the dot makes a circle, but why? the rotations it makes isn't in sync with anything, it just seems to be there.
I wonder what makes you think the spectrum doesn't reflect the sound. Actually the audio spectrum accurately shows what it has to show. Speaking of the "left and right" they represent sound amplitude of the left and the right channels. This visual reaction doesn't have a linear dependency to the amplitude of the corresponding channel, but who said it has to be? But the brightness and the position of the circles (which makes this wavy look) are driven by the actual sound.ntom wrote:Also, not that I am going to sit here and study it, but something tells me that just like the spectrum analyzer visual above which had the illusion of being a spectrum analyzer but was actually completely useless and wrong, I would wager the supposed "left and right" visuals on this video are just there for flashy purposes but don't actually reflect the audio signals coming from the left and right channel.

How do you think, what would be the best choice for this forum?ntom wrote:...probably picked a bad song choice too, for this forum.

These are nice. I just dug up my dad's old computer he left at my house when moving to another country, and it turns out it's got After Effects on it. CS3, though. I don't suppose any of yours are backwards-compatible with CS3?

The free project works with CS4 and above (
Adobe freaks me out with their backward compatibility policy. Each version of After Effects can export a project to a previous version only one step backward (starting from CS5->CS4, CS5.5->CS5 etc). There is a script pt_OpenSesame for exporting projects from a newer versions to previous, but you have to use it with both versions of AE, the one you exporting from and the other you importing in.
I collecting free visualisation templates. Maybe you'll get lucky to find a template working in CS3.

Wow, these are really cool. I've tried to make something like these many times using different methods, but never get results this good. Unfortunately, I don't have After Effects and can't really justify that cost for the occasional YouTube vid, but they are cool.

Really cool stuff. I'm always looking for ways to make my YouTubes more visually interesting.
