Stinky Gaming Foot pedal applications for music?

I had never heard of this, but it's an interesting idea in general. It's marketed as a gaming peripheral, but I'm about 90% certain since you can just bind keyboard keys to one of the 4 additional buttons, that this can be used in other applications as well.

The one problem, as mentioned in the above video, is that it cannot do macro functions - meaning you couldn't map a "ctrl + z" command to it, only individual keyboard keys.

So, I'm curious, how would you take advantage of offloading a few keyboard keys to your foot?

Honestly, there are so many key modifiers (like shift or control) that it might be interesting just to map the modifier keys to pedal.
