I would very much like to find some good in depth video tutorials starting at the beginner level of learning the keyboard that are not really old or corny (as many of them are). Preferably geared toward electronic music but that by now way means not piano. I was able to find a decent one of jordan rudes (really old one) where he gets pretty detailed on glide methods using pitch bend which was really cool, but wasn't geared at beginner levels of course. But something cool like that which I can practice randomly is also cool to share if you know of them. Free or paid ones welcome, youtube links are nice too. Cheers.

The basic technique is the same for any genre.

New, well made, and playing listenable music (not jazz or blues) taught maybe by edm producer tutorials, none?rod_zero wrote:The basic technique is the same for any genre.

What makes you think a genre that uses quite basic tonal music rules needs specialized lessons?
You need to starts with the same basics: fingering, posture and learn notes, chords, progressions, etc.

Please don't assume I don't realize this and that I'm missing some extremely fundamental grasp on playing the keyboard that you decided you must correct instead of just sharing some cool link. I don't think you realize the quality of the keyboard tutorials I've come across lately. If there is Music Theory for electronic musicians then there should be something along the lines of learning the keyboard for electronic musicians. I know that blues goes well for electronic music but learning from a more specialized source might make things easier and more relevant. At the very least I only said it could be from an electronic music perspective. I'd really just like to know of some quality ones out there that are made since the invention of computers and preferably the internet that are well made. What makes you think a genre that uses quite basic tonal music rules needs specialized lessons?

I would recommend "Developing Your Musicianship" on Coursera for music theory. And for pure keyboard playing technique... I doubt you will find what you describe - it would be a seriously specialised course. You gain technique by simply playing gradually harder pieces - it doesn't matter if it's EDM or jazz. There are some technical exercises (you could try Jordan Rudess online conservatory) for examples, but that is no way to learn (it's only good as a supplement).
But first things first: what kind of keyboard proficiency are you trying to achieve - could you list some keyboard heavy EDM tracks that you enjoy? That would make it easier for us to recommend something.
