Human nature is what it is. With big name artists deserting the flawed streaming experiment, it will eventually cave. Who wants to sell their songs and albums for nothing? No one. Admittedly, there are artists trapped in it, those who signed bad contracts and failed to read fine print. For the rest of us, and Taylor Swift, it's no-go.

So what's next? If Itunes decides to force artists into streaming in June, in 6 months there will be a host of new web stores selling downloads and CDs and these new stores will, obviously, attract name artists, essentially diluting the cash revenues of Itunes and the streamers. I know people right now who are planning a new web store, selling by download and CDs.

Where there is a demand, there is a business. There are incrediby smart people in this country and elsewhere who are well connected and have the money and resources to launch web sites, competing very well against Itunes and the streamers. In other words, Itunes business will be divded amongst a number of new retail web sites. And the new web sites, predictably, will allow the artist full control over their property and even their 90 second preview demos.

It all benefits the artist. As long as we have an openly competitive society, there is just no way the new sites can be prevented from coming online and selling our work. And, there isn't enough money in the galaxy to pay off all the stars to stay with streaming.
