We are delighted to launch our new delicious plug-in: Honey channel strip, as a result of the transition of our Acqua technology to the Core6 Engine.
From now on, you will find the perfect balance between sound and performance, improvement in latency and cpu usage without compromise in sound quality.
New Core6 performance: From the first measurements the EQ Acustica Audio Honey, that can be compared in terms of CPU load, to the Ivory IAE2 (same numbers of bands), with a latency of 2000 samples and a CPU load of 4%. Its performance was measured on a PC with these characteristics: OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 - CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40 GHz 2.40 GHz - RAM: 8,00 GB - Using Reaper v4.77 (x86).

Demo'd it. Used it for about a day and then left the demo run out. Didnt hate it, just wasnt impressed. I have Amber and Orange, and between those two, theres no need for this.
There ya have it...

I agree that EQ's are already more than well catered for.

I would like to see a well modelled and wider range of compressors from Acustica. Namely API2500 or something like the FCS P3S ME, Manley Vari Mu, Cranesong STC8 etc.

Failing that a plugin with a selection of input output stages, transformer models, tube stages etc etc that can be added before or after well implemented clean digital EQ and compression for a choice of vibe and colour.

I can't say I am after any more EQs in plugin form. DMG Equilibrium and (to a lesser degree) TDR Slick EQ GE have made the need for more EQ completely redundant to me for the foreseeable future.

Cheers

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

we are taking in accout dynamic distortion, even a bit of compression (yes this unit is also a strip) and an eq featuring accurate sampled phase, not only dynamics. Each eq, even without the input/output stage is completely different from all other ones. For this exact reason each hardware eq is different from other ones, and best recording studios are crowded with different gear (otherwise they would just buy a couple of eq and every client would be satisfied).

EDIT: even in their cleanest form (preamp completely bypassed) all our eqs have a strong personality. Each one is different from the other one.People spends a lot of bucks for gear (especially top notch recording facilities): many of them are based on a similar design (a lot of pultec or sontec designs), but at the end of the day there is an huge difference.
Some of them (ie tube eq) are not minimum phase. It means they introduce latency (even if few ms or less) so strange group delays and other nasty details (sometimes just in harmonics, sometimes even in the fundamental). All our clients discovered that amber is completely different from honey, or magenta, or green, or ivory. The reason why we are releasing so many different units is just because each of them can have a place in a mix. Using different tools is so great and creative, and inspiring.

this is an excellent eq...really pushes the sound out like I expect an analogue eq to...this and Ivory are my new faves...
