Im working with orion and all I need is a sample browser. Have a look at fl browser --really simple. Thats all I really need. Is there something like this for vsti?? So simple but can't really find anything-- which is surprising :o

i don't know if this is any use to you:

i love it for browing and previewing my samples etc..

I only want to to browse files while previewing them which has drag and drop into audio tracks. I tried to sorta cheat with other samplers browsers but it won't let me drag and drop into my host..

Maybe running both your DAW and the other sample browsers "as admin" will work?

In Win 7, I have to run both Resonic and Ableton Live "as admin" to be able to drag files from Resonic to Live. (Same for various other software too).

Otherwise, I suspect that if a DAW does not allow drag and drop from an external browser, a drag and drop from a VST inside won't work either.

I use this one: http://sonicwire.com/mutant it supports drag&drop. Best i found so far.

Hey. I am able to drag from fl studio when it is opened inside orion as a vsti but fl studio opens always at full screen. I even tried to detach the browser and have it float only outside fl studio, and it works for a bit, but usually triggers the full window of fl studio immediately.

will download and install all demos of links posted and see how it goes. A lot of them seem packed with features and tag customizations, which are great, but kinda overkill for what I want. Just a plain ole simple browser guess doesn't really exist? :o

This is actually really cool, it generates waveform of all samples-- excellent. It is not a vsti though.

Okay, tag a file will not let me drag into audio tracks in orion. It opens a new audio track without carrying the wave? Seems it would be nice though if it'd work--minus the 50 floating tags taking up 3/4 of the gui..

Universal patcher wouldn't even load in orion.. This is a bummer really.. Mutant win works fine, if only it was a vsti.. Orion steals the soundcard from it so even if I just want to have both windows open i can't. Will see if I can adjust the sound card settings in it..

Anymore to try out?

This one is really nice, beautiful even. Will probably use this often, but won't let me drag anything into orion.

Yep, a VST of this would be very cool. As a workaround you could also "abuse" a vsti for drums where you can easily audition & drag sounds via internal browser. Maybe you own already something like Vice, Battery, Geist etc.

PS. Check this excellent KVR thread plz http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4676394

This should be fixed in 0.6.3b, if Orion supports file drops from Explorer too.

Any other new Sample Browsers for Vsti besides these ones mentioned? There seems to be a gap in what DAW creators think we want in our browsers. Watching this thread..
