sooo....
just got this email:
Greetings!
Over the next week or two, we're rolling out an important change here at Bandcamp. Rather than payments for digital transactions going from the fan directly to you, those payments will be processed by Bandcamp and then paid out to you within 24 hours (higher-value transactions may take a bit longer to arrive). Our revenue share is not changing, and you'll continue to receive payments via your PayPal account. There is no action necessary on your part.
We're taking over the processing and payout for digital transactions in order to lay the groundwork for several exciting upcoming improvements, including:
accepting more payment options
offering gift cards
streamlining the checkout flow (especially when purchasing items from multiple artists)
As part of this change we'll be updating our Terms of Use, which you'll receive a separate email about shortly.
Thank you!

now, it seems pretty innocuous...but then agin...these things always do before they go south.
thoughts?

Yes, as a fan rather than artist, I hope they continue to make the site easier to use -- it's nice now but there are a few rough edges. For the artists, I hope they continue their existing stance of getting payments through fully and without undue delay. If they start messing people around, it'll hurt everyone and I can't see the site surviving being abandoned if many artists are annoyed enough to leave, followed by their fans. So, hopefully, they're still small enough to understand that rather than believing like some sites they can get away with anything.

That's the question I was going to ask. There's no words about the VAT taxes in their message.seismic1 wrote:Does anyone know whether the EU Vat deductions at source have been implemented? I thought this was scheduled to be implemented in Q2 2015.
