In continuation with the aphex-square pusher programming. I extracted some of my files into some dirty little one shots. If anyone is interested in how I created them, then just express it in this thread and I will post it for everyone. :D

I'm curious on how you go the samples out. ;-) Are those copyright free?

unless he took them from some sample cd what is the problem ?

he took them/recycled from tracks ?

S_pusher Aphex are too shot to
worry about such trivia.

Okay great.

Short Version:

First, I opened my favorite Step Drum Sequencer (Redrum) I browsed for some hats and a few tones that were eligible for the chopstick sound I was looking for. Note: When browsing for these style hats I focus on pitch and length changes of each sample to see where pulling it will take me. So I programmed this out: I believe at around 100bpm in Reason.

Listen: 100bpm

Next- I saved the track at the key 140bpm that I require.
Listen: 140bpm

Now- I heavily process the track with various filters and mods. Occasionally I will open it in Acid and micro edit each bar. (that did not occur in this example)

THIS IS KEY: Once I have got my track processed and at to my satisfaction- I reduce the tempo to the furthest possible setting (most cases 40 or 70) Acid Pro does a really good job of fu(king up pro-audio files and is a good candidate. However any plug or wav editor will suffice. This will be my master track
Listen: master 70bpm

Once I have enough verb, delay and glitch to the master track- I will open the file in Recycle. I will set the stretch to zero to prevent any echo and drag the slider to about 70. Recycle has a limit of 92 files when extracting- therefore- I missed allot of the sounds I was wanting to use in this example. To ensure that you do capture the sections you want- drag the “L” and “R” to the desired spots.

Well, the copyright question is answered (they're okay so long as samples of your own music belong to you... certain employment contracts may void that assumption... ). Just need to know if they're royalty free now! :-)

Of course they are.

I make and process so many samples that I enjoy the chance to supply the audio dev communities.

The most practical application that these samples are used for is accents in most cases- although you can grind out some filthy shizzle with them.

Here is an ACCENT EXAMPLE (nothing special)

In which case, big thanks! Cleared and royalty-free samples are always good - the more original, the better.

(I'm currently wandering thru PatchArena's soundfont links and commenting on (C)/license issues - it's a minefield..!)
