Hello,

about one year ago I bought Samplit.
Unfortunately is the work with it extremely unpredictable - the application is unstable and "equipped" with bugs. Otherwise clear and easily understood interface - simple for works.
I wrote to the manufacturer two or three times, but I got no answer at all.

I'm thinking about upgrade on V2.
Is there anybody who already bought the lastest version and can confirm that the V2 is stable and without (at least significant) bugs?

Thanks!

This is a very good question. I'm thinking about buying Samplit, but if it's unstable like you said it is, I'll avoid it. Hopefully someone will come and tell that v2 fixes all those bugs, which would make sens.

They have a free V2 demo (with a limited sample range).
As it's currently on sale for $89, I'm giving it a try. So far it seems to work as expected as long as I don't go beyond the (straight forward and within their expected) work flow.
There's something to be noted, the auto-loop function looks pretty nice.

Although, I'm finding the app not so robust.

For instance, when I had some windows open - a VSTi window and the record panel - I wanted to change the MIDI input device and clicked the Settings button. The app got hung and didn't come back, I had to kill it from Task Manager.

Another one, I closed the VSTi Window, and later opened it again. Somehow the window is stuck at the top left corner of the screen, without a title bar. The window can't be repositioned; short of the title bar, there's nowhere to grab and drag (no, Alt+Space didn't bring the system menu either). And I couldn't bring back the window to the top of z-order again once it's obstructed by other window.

Such and such. I'm not sure if I want to invest even the sale price, if the quality does not improve. I haven't had experience with SoundLib before, not sure how they are proactive in the app quality domain.

Anyone bought the latest version and could share his experience with us? I'm thinking about buying it but if it's still unstable I'll just pass.

I would ask all of you to test first the latest demo version and share here your experiences.

I done this today with W7 x64 on my PC and latest demo Samplit v2.1.1
The result was terrible!
First when I selected "An Audio Plug-In installed on my computer" and click "Next" the Samplit showed me the window with "No Plug-In". I clicked on "Refresh Plug-Ins" icon and after very short "Searching for plug-ins" the application stopped working and crashed (closed) down.
I tried several times - the results were always the same!

Then I selected as record option "An external instrument or hardware not controled by MIDI". Audio monitor worked just fine, I set sample mapping on each semi-tone and two velocity layers. Next window I selected "Percusive (long)" - for guitar. I lefted all parameters as they were and clicked "Finish". Then I clicked icon "Record" and the Samplit Recorder windows opened it. I put Record-in level on -50dB, all other parameters stayed untouched.
Then I clicked "Record" and started playing note-by-note to fulfill all 72 squares.
First stopped after 10 notes (freeze).
After few restart of Samplit I came through till the end.
Then I wanted to hear some samples. After a few clicks on separate samples the apps freeze!

I tested all that stuff on my few years ago high-end notebook as well and the results were similar above. :(

At the end I went to my friend - he is the owner of Mac & iOS!
After less then an hour we established almost the same bad/sad results...

What a sad story! That's why I don't want to spent my money and time once again (I already bought a licence for Samplit V1) for the software which doesn't function...

Wow, thank you for your detailed review. This is the problem with a lot of software that claim the same features. For some reasons they don't really work; they are buggy to a point that you can't do much with them.

You just saved me money, thanks again!

If the plug-ins are not visible in Samplit, follow these steps:
Open Samplit/go to settings/plug-ins/click refresh/click close.
Now when you create a new project and select (an audio plug-in installed on your computer)
the plug-ins should be visible.

I hope it helps.
