I'm in search of the smallest possible, decent, studio monitors. I move frequently for work, so they need to be fairly portable.

I see Behringer makes a very small set, but.. uhm.. Behringer.

Any suggestions? Other than "give it up"... :?

Genelec make some excellent small monitors. They are expensive, but mine have been totally reliable for the last 18 years. You'll probably need a sub bass too.

Good suggestion! The Genelec 8010s are the perfect size, but oh yeah, expensive...

A sub is out of the question, I'm afraid. I move every six months to a year (contract software engineer) so moving a decent sub halfway across the country is WAY too much work. Maybe if I ever settle down..

I just need something other than my HD380 cans and my laptop speakers...

Time to start saving up and working some overtime. Need $400 for those Genelecs

$400 seems cheap to me. I paid £400 each for my 1029A's, and £450 for the sub back in 1998. Hardware is comparatively inexpensive these days.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

If you have the money then The Genelec 8010's are excellent.
If you do not have that much money then the new(ish) Tannoy Revel 402's would be my next choice.
