I don't know how i stumbled onto Amplitube UA maybe I saw it in an email or something. But initially I was pretty excited, finally an android supported guitar effects thing, plus it's from IK using the amplitube branding and I've always dug amplitube. I read a bit about it and to see if it was compatible with my phone i downloaded the app from Google Play and messed around with the demo. At that point with payday coming up I decided that i'll probably end up buying it, so i registered the app with my IK account. When I got an email back from the registration it said to check out some other IK stuff including iRig 2 and iRig Stomp (which say android in the email, but not on the pages when i click them).

Anyone actually use these on android? If the iRig Stomp does work on android, anyone have any recommendations of why i would pick the Amplitube UA over it? I record a lot of bass, guitar, and vocals. I have some stomp boxes, and one of my hardware mixers has built-in effects, i usually keep the buffer pretty high in FL Studio on my regular interface so I usually try to mix effects after the recording is done or record with the hardware effects i have, or usually a mix of the two. But it would be nice having another effects suite that's external from my regular interface. It seems like Amplitube UA is a lot like Amplitube CS where you can buy extras (other effects and amps and stuff) in bundles or piece by piece.

Amplitube UA - (required iRig UA is $99.99) - http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitubeua/
iRig STOMP - $59.99 - http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigstomp

Technically AmpliTube UA is free (that's the app) but it requires iRig UA since the processing is actually done on iRig UA in order to solve the latency issues still present on most Android devices.

Bottom line is if you need near zero latency guitar/bass input on your Android device and you are not using a device that support Samsung Professional Audio you would need to use iRig UA. If you have a Samsung device that supports Samsung Professional Audio you can get low-latency audio via the other interfaces you mention (though they will have more noise because they use the headphone jack to connect - you may want to look at iRig HD-A in this case).

Hope that helps.
