Just out of curiosity has anyone outside of the EU been able to transfer their Vanguard license ? I bought Vanguard at version 1.03 and have been told License transfers are not allowed. I'm pretty sure older users were grandfathered in after the original EULA was changed and were allowed to transfer their license. Here's what I just got from ReFx:

So if anybody outside of the EU has ever been able to successfully been able to transfer their license please let me know.

(Yes this might be better in the Marketplace Forum but I don't think it would get the same exposure there).

I live in the US and have had Vanguard transferred to me. The seller was from Sweden. Cannot say anything about selling it from outside the US.

Ok thanks. Then it has to do with EU laws. I understand it's up to the U.S. to draft laws to protect buyers of software just as the EU has but I won't do business with a company that won't do a simple license transfer of a plugin they no longer sell just because of where I live.

Allowing me to transfer my Vanguard license to someone who would actually use it would not have hurt them one bit since they don't even sell it anymore. It would simply have been a chance to generate some good will. I don't even use Vanguard anymore and told them they could rest assured that I would delete from my system upon transfer. I could just give the install file and serial number to the buyer but I won't do that because I have morals. No matter how I feel about ReFx I won't stoop to wonky transfers.

Oh well......feck 'em.

I had tried to arrange a deal with an ex-Vanguard user in Ireland and he was met with a response about 'tangible components' when contacting the support team about transferring the license. Is it because of Vanguard 2's intended release?

From what I've read here at kvr I don't think Vanguard 2 is about to be released any time soon.

The whole project was retired quietly. There is no Vanguard 2 now or ever.
