What's your favorite guitar amp sim (free or non free)
Beside the most popular ones (amplitude, guitar rig &co), maybe there's some ones which are well worth discovering.

I didn't know the Studio devil amplifier which seems to be a nice one with a quite organic sound

Among the free ones, the Lepou/poulin seems to be well known

Which are the sims which have less fizz, recquire minimal adjustments (high pass/lowpass), and have the most realistic poweramp feels, off course the good Impulse (like the great Tropicana one) helps

native: TSE x50v2

That said I bought an axe FX 2 XL+ earlier this year and haven't used anything else since. Not even my tube amp.

The tse sounds really good, it reminds me of my engl e530 with some nice impulses, quite acid.

The axe fx2 or the kemper seems indeed great, but pricey alternatives.

i like Amplitube as well (especially the Fender Princeton and the Orange amps, from what i've tried), but S-Gear just seems more "alive" to me. haven't tried the newer Amplitube models (Mesa, new Marshalls). haven't used anything else, other than BIAS on the iPad which i thought was pretty lame.

EDIT: S-Gear is not a great sim for really high-gain stuff, from what i hear. not quite sure what you're looking for.

Flextron. Free, surprisingly versatile. Play with the gain staging and pedal sims for best results.

x50, Emissary, Juicy77, Anvil + TPA-1, Ace; all through Mercuriall Cab, although a good impulse is still valid. Doing the usual 6L6/EL34/KT88 power tube switcheroo depending on song, line or phase of the moon. Oddly enough, I tend to use the higher-gain amps for clean tones and lower-gain for distorted. And JCM900; it just seems always to fit into a dense mix.

Still using the simulanalog stuff.

Also using NI guitar rig and the CM kuassa amplifikation.

Yeah, I use it a lot for more distorted stuff. Ace (by Shattered Audio I think) for less distorted. They're easy to use, sound fine, and work well with unison samples in stereo.

With "real instrument" bands I use the Ignite Amps stuff pretty often, also Kuassa.

I'm using TSE X50 v2 all the time nowadays for high gain stuff (with the 808 and the 5150), with TSE BOD v2 on bass sounds (even if things are complicated with bass, you can't just put a bass amp sim and have a sound ready for the mix)

I have also a bunch of real preamps in rack and pedal format, and I always put TPA1 from Ignite Amps after on the signal chain. Really underrated in my opinion.

Mercuriall and Vadim Taranov / PVDHP7 stuff are good too.

Ditto. I'm not a power user, but iI find it easy to make it sound good. The right amount of good ballpark presets helps. I'm into clean, jangly and fuzzy tones, not metal type tones.

Amplitube is pretty good as an all rounder, but for high gain I don't think anything can touch the sims from Ignite Amps - they are just fantastic.

I'd love to find something that does a really good tube emulation for those sounds between clean and high gain, but not sure I've found anything. I've been meaning to check out Scuffham Amps at some point as they get a good rep from people who own the real thing.

The ezmix stuff sounds awesome here. I'm gonna get it, next time it goes on sale.

EZmix is basically Overloud.

My fav ones are Recabinet 4, TSE X50, S-Gear 2. In that particular order. Kuassa is pretty cool, too, Vermillion is the closest you can go to that combo amp feeling ITB.
