Hi,

I use a PC with Cubase and a Focusrite Saffire which feeds MIDI OUT to a KAWAI MIDI-patchbay, and that sends the MIDI signal to eight different MIDI devices.

Needless to say, timing is awful (+/- 2 BPM!). Totally unacceptable.

Can I send a MIDI signal from Cubase/Focusrite to USAMO via an audio output, and then send that MIDI out to the MIDI patchbay and to my hardware without everything sounding like it's pissed?

If this is possible I'm buying it tomorrow.

Cheers,
TOUMP MF ASS

The USAMO will improve the MIDI going into your patchbay. It can't do anything about what effect the patchbay has on the MIDI.

Have you compared the timing with and without the patchbay in the chain? If it's bad without the patchbay, then yes, it's likely that the USAMO will fix your issues.

Hi Os, thanks for the reply.

I haven't checked the MIDI timing without the patchbay, however, the MIDI timing was really shit before I had the patchbay so...

I have spoken to people with the same patchaby who claim the super expensive Interclock System from Australia fixes their timing issues. I think I"ll buy the USAMO anyway.

Can you recommend a seller in Australia?

Thanks,

I'm not sure any of my Australian dealers have it, though you could try - the list is here:

You can also order direct on that same page.
