Looks quite similar to me, the quintessence for me is that they are spaces one can upload tracks for sharing.
What are the difference between them?

One's dead and the other's dying.
Soundcloud is teetering close to where MySpace was when everybody started abandoning it.

MySpace pre-dated Facebook. It was pretty good in its day but the whole thing with html meant there was a lot of awful looking profiles. Then there was the Murdoch buyout which no-one liked. I dunno about the relaunch a few years ago, i think it was generally ignored by everyone.

MySpace reached about 50 Mio visits every month in 2015. So I would not say they are dead, but they are compared to others very small. Anyway, they had always a focus to musicians and support for audio files but it was IMO not very user friendly. This changed a bit with MySpace 2. It's now a bit like Facebook but with a focus to musicians and this includes now also a better handling of audio files...
Soundcloud is for musicians and was never designed to be a social media platform like Facebook, Twitter or Myspace. Soundcloud has something about 350 Mio visits per month and 175 Mio of them _listen_ at least one soundfile per month . We all know, it's for sharing of music with a feedback function so that users can leave comments on tracks and there is some statistic stuff for the uploader/user. That's all
Completely different thing compared to MySpace.
MySpace = social media platform, Soundcloud = audio sharing platform (with a lot larger user base)

I had one account on a music site, I don't remember if it was Soundcloud, but it got hacked right away. They didn't want me there for free. It sucks having other males into your music, it gets really disgusting. That's your basic worst nightmare in life. (Van Halen type life)

You first. Tell me what are similiarities between the two? What are the difference between SoundCloud and MySpace ?
Also, I gave up Myspace after their bug reporting form turned out to be bugged itself. I regret I didn't switch sooner to Soundcloud / Facebook combo, perhaps I wouldn't loose lots of fans I used to have at that time

Am I in need of making a full statement just to ask a question now ?
If you want to ask about similarites, why don't you start your own thread about that

MySpace didn't have a player which you could imbed into forum posts and such, did it? I seem to remember being annoyed that when I posted a track to MySpace, people had to go to Myspace to hear it.
