This is an uncompromised tune in the sense that I didn't care about its lenght or about conventions like verse&chorus - I felt that the general idea and the lyrics are to strong to be put into a 3:30min. single
format - we worked on this during the last
three weeks and now it's nearly finished and
it's as close to my prog-roots as I can get these days

anyway: though this probably won't end up on my demo I'm rather satisfied with what it has turned into.

It's neither an upright-bass nor a vsti - it's my fretless-bass (I'd love to have an upright-bass but I
can't afford it at the moment - I played for some years bass-guitar in band where our guitar-player owned one so he borrowed it to me - it even had a
(good) pickup build in, so I could use it easily live )
- I am rather satisfied with the sound of the fretless in this tune - it was the first time that I used Voxengo's Voxformer for it - it's a fantastic plugin

I think it's the pumping bassline of the fast parts - it was even more obvious before, so I changed the beat a bit

- but yes, maybe I'm gonna make a remix just for the fun of it - perhaps I can extract some parts of the lyrics which still carry something of the original idea but I think we would have to rewrite them a bit

something about the style makes the lyrics hard to catch.. gets better for the crescendo but it's as if the vocal focus is on pitching the right note in the correct rhythmic interval more than enunciating the consonants for your 'classic' vocal performance.

I don't know what it is but there's something in the vox mostly in the higher notes that doesn't convince my ears. Could just be my ears as well, but the second part sounded quite good where she sang a bit lower then in the beginning.

Many good stuffs in this song.

Very nice voice that fit very weel your style.
But sometime it sounds like she isn't 100% sure of the melody.

Anyway i like it... The Fretless bass is great.
