On my iPad (iOS8, iPadAir) Alchemy shows an error Message when startet "fauilure to initioalisze AudioBus".
On my iPhone 5c (iOS8) this message doesn't come up.

Anyone whoi knows what to do, so that Alchemy will work with Audiobus on my iPad correctly?

Double-check the Alchemy Mobile version is 2.3.18 in Menu->Help->About. Does this happen even if you don't have Audiobus up and running? Try clearing out every application and rebooting the iPad (hold down the home button and top/right power button at the same time. Hold down until it reboots and you see the Apple symbol. Perhaps you have already tried this.

Try different latency settings in Menu->Settings. I forget what Audiobus defaults to. 512 maybe? Sometimes with Alchemy, loading order makes a difference. Try loading Alchemy first, then Audiobus. Also try loading Audiobus first, and then Alchemy.

Audiobus has had some updates since the last version of Alchemy, so there is a possibility of incompatibility. Though assuming you have the same versions of Alchemy Mobile and Audiobus on both devices, if it works on one, it should work on the other.

Thanks for your hints, iPlogger.

Yes it happens also when audiobus is not running

Yes, I tried this several times already.

I got the latest version of the apps both on my iPhone 5c and iPad Air.
I upgraded on the iPad Air from an earlier version of Audiobus, where I already had the problem. And I hoped that upgrading would "heal" the symptom, since it's working on the iPhone.

Well, probably there is still a combonation of loasind sequence and latency settings that I haven't tried yet :-)
I will take a deeper look at this point again, but I assume it won't lead to a success :-(

Any other ideas?

Well, Apple should just fulfill their duty and give 2 or 3 years of support and updates to products from companies which they buy....

I just realized I should check that point again. I JUST ASSUMED THIS, because the Appsore doesn't show that there is an update available.
With the app officially taken off the Appstore, it probably doesn't show this anymore?

I actually had issues upgrading to 2.3.18. Took me a few tries. Sorry, I can't think of anything else it might be. I'm still on iOS7 and not on the latest Audiobus, so I am a bit behind. Actually, I am still on iOS7 specifically for Alchemy Mobile as I sometimes get down into the file system which Apple closed off in iOS 8.

Ok, now I checkrd that. i dont' have the lastest version of Alchemy on my iPad. But how do Imupgrade. Looking at the purchases in my AppStore it shows Alchemy, but only offers the button open, no download/update. Do I rellay have to delete an reinstall?
I would need to save all my project first. I am a bit unshure about that. i did export them to Itunes Foleshare, which gave me audio and Midi files for every single track. but I don't how I could reimport these.
Any hints?

The only import option I see is Dropbox. which I don't have yet.

What version do you currently have? And are they different versions between your iPad and iPhone? The 2.3.18 version was added to allow users to download their purchased IAP, so should not effect AudioBus. It seems once the July date came, you are no longer able to download the IAP anymore.

Yes, now you see why I stay with iOS7. I can use iFunBox to copy/backup my song (and sound data) which I have a lot in Alchemy Mobile. Besides using Dropbox, you can also use the iCloud feature. This may be an Alchemy Pro feature only, but I can't remember. I did use iCloud once as a test, and it did successfully get my Alchemy songs from one iPad to another. If you have just a few songs, the dropbox option may be easy enough.

Thanks for all your help, I resolved the issue.
Even though it was not possible to load the update of Alchemy directly through the Appstore on the iPad, there is a way to do it through the PC.
1) start iTunes on the PC (without the iPad being connected)
2) delete the app in iTunes on the PC
3) go to purchases in the Appstore on the PC, Alchemy is now offedred as a download
4 ) download it
5) Connect iPad
6) in the "Apps on yout iPad view on the PC" marke the Alchemy for update
7) synchronize
8) done: all the projects remained on the iPad.
The inApp purchases remainded on the iPad as well. Which in my case was on the the pro upgrade.
I am soooo unhappy that I cannot buy additional sounds. Alchemy is the app that I love the most on my iPad.
Well Synthmaster is also not sooo bad, but Alchemy is a more inspiring to me.

Thanks for the update. Glad you got it working. That's great news.

Same here. Alchemy I used all the time. 95% of my music on iPad was spent in Alchemy. I do have Alchemy Desktop and in July, got a Surface Pro and now use Surface/Alchemy instead of the iPad. Liked Synthmaster on iPad as well, and ended up buying THAT for Windows.

There are other 3rd Party Alchemy Libraries if you are interested. As long as you have Alchemy Mobile Pro, you should be able to install these .camelsounds files. The problem is, they may have samples and take up a bit more space than you want. Since you are on iOS9, you won't be able to remove any of these libraries once they are installed. Alchemy does have a 'delete' feature, but it just removes the library from showing up in your menu. The data/files are still on your iPad.

Due to limitations with Alchemy Mobile, some sounds may not work.

I have several from Yuroun: http://www.yuroun-sounddesign.com/ I have Pure, Pure II, Pure Pads and Stones of Albion and almost everything works. Only just a very few don't make a sound.

You can also check out Patchpool: http://www.patchpool.de/alchemy_shop.html

Some freebies from Rekkerd: http://rekkerd.org/patches/plug-in/alchemy/

I didn't even know that one could install 3rd party sounds in Alchemy mobile. Could you give me a description on how that is done?
Or probably a link where the procedure is described?
Thanks

I tried searching for the directions. I had written up a tutorial on a website that is no longer around and with Camel Audio being gone, their instructions are no longer available. It might be listed in the Camel Audio area of KVR, but I could not find specific directions when I did a search.

I haven't done this for awhile, but I think this is how you do it. You use iTunes to drag/drop the library file (.camelsounds) into Alchemy Mobile. If you are unsure how to do this, open iTunes with your iOS device attached. When you view your installed apps, there is a list of apps that allow file sharing. Scroll through to Alchemy Mobile. Then copy the files over into the file sharing area of Alchemy Mobile.

You may have one file for the Preset data and one for the actual sample data. Once they are placed into File Sharing, open up Alchemy on your device. Dropdown the library list and scroll to the bottom. Tap 'Add custom sounds'. This should list the files you copied through iTunes. Install and you have a wonderful new set of sounds to use.

I think you MUST have the PRO Upgrade installed in order to use this feature.

Try it on one of the smaller files first to be sure it works for you. You don't want to install several MB of data only to find out it won't work.
