Time flies, IDM is comming of age... which are you favorit IDM albums that you still play and enjoy? By IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) I mean anything that is derivated from techno but maybe not so much made for the dance floor. I put Illbient, Minimal, Ambient and some Detroit under the IDM label but your milage may vary...
I'll start:
Aphex Twin album Drukqs appears in my CD player from time to time.

A second for Boards of Canada "Music Has A Right To Children." That album is simply essential.
Autechre - Amber
Would Plaid's "Not For Threes" count?
Those three albums right there are what turned me onto the genre.

Early stuff: LFO - Advance
I think Aphex Twin's The Richard D. James Album belongs in this list, too.
Another vote for Music Has The Right To Children and I'm wondering which Squarepusher-album should be nominated.
Plaid's Not For Threes: absolutely.
Maybe Coil's Love's Secret Domain as an early influence.
Almost forgot: Fennesz - Endless Summer
Groet, Erik

I love "Middle of Nowhere!". Did you hear Orbital are making their last album? Apparently they'll be going back to their roots, after the shenanigans of the last album. Dave Gray?! WTF was that all about :p

Heh, I was kinda thinking about classic as in "old".
If not, I must add that almost everything that Mouse on Mars have done is in my books classic. (The doku/fiction book should be in the post today
.)
Also, "Life is full of possibilities", by Dntel.
