If it isn't too late, I would suggest offering a utility that would covert v3 projects to v4..

I messed up something in the latest beta, compositions are not loaded fully, only one track.
I am fixing this bug and will upload an update in a few hours.
I am terribly sorry, it is more and more difficult to build a compatible 3.9 version due to the drastic internal changes. Beta48 will be the last update that is supposed to be compatible with the v3 versions.

I will gladly send any earlier versions to anyone if needed.

Interesting.. because if you create more tracks with this version and save, they do reload... but only load 1 track from other compositions.. why I thought it hit the turning point on backward compatibility..

Yes, you are right! I accidentally added something that broke loading old stuff but newly saved compositions were loaded properly. I restored the old backward compatible behaviour.

RapidComposer v3.9b48 is available!

This is the last beta version that remains compatible with earlier versions.
Next beta versions will be named v4.0betas.

Improvements:

Fixed: only a single track was loaded when loading a composition so backwards compatibility was broken
'Shared rhythms' are removed

I fully support this idea. I'll create a new beta topic for v4.0, and a v4 release announcement topic too.

Unfortunately I cannot find a usable RSS viewer anymore that can format this XML document nicely. In addition most people find using RSS a thing of the past. I think it is useful when you get a notification in your mailbox about new updates...

Speaking for myself I would not support the task of making such a utility.It would not be guaranteed to work and would distract you from developing version 4.

I consider myself partly to blame I should have tested the new beta on an empty project before attempting to load up an old project.I got too casual ..your beta's are typically more robust than most developer's main builds...

Thanks for uploading a beta that will load old version 3 projects.

I must be careful with the changes so I am the one to blame. I am confident that the internal redesign efforts will let me implement new features much faster, and existing functionality will work more reliably.

When I installed v3.9b48 today my desktop shortcut lost its icon. Never did that before. Did anyone else experience this?

what OS? I think there is a check box when run the install for that.. If you want, run the install again, or just make a short cut and put it on your desk top..

but, to answer your question, didn't happen to me..

Hi everyone !
In the Track Inspector there is a command "Fill with Chords Master Track". It works and even maintains a harmonic rhythm according to the chords of the master track, but only at the beginning of the chords, and the length of these chords is constant - 1/4. Maybe I don’t know where you can change the length of the filled-in chords so that these chords fully match the length of the chords in the master track? Thank you!

Can I see a screen shot? When I do it, it fills correctly.. Using the "H" hot key, or clicking the action..
