It's on sale at AudioDeluxe. I still can't quite make the move.

I have it and hardly ever use it. I think there are some threads about it here if you search.
I use Egoist a lot; for me it's way more inspiring and the slicer can do some really cool things for custom samples; plus the bass, percussion, and effects section are highly tweakable and useable. Just mentioned Egoist as a comparison since they're a bit similar in nature but not that much.

Arch it's such a shame. It's 2/3rds of a fantastic product, but iZotope just abandoned it. Does the company no favours at all to do that, just makes people wary of buying anything else from them.

At $99... Could be worth it. Wouldn't pay any more than that tho. I personally haven't found a really great replacement for Stylus RMX, I wish Spectrasonics would get on with it already. Since Omni 2 development has been relatively quiet (compared to Omni 1's first year), I'm semi-hopeful that RMX 2 / replacement might be at next year's NAMM. Probably wishful thinking, but at least they've confirmed its in the works.

yep. I just mirrored a similar, previous thread about this. I guess the $99 factor was my main point here. It just seems like a lot of possible use and samples for a hundred bucks, especially with the entire collection of expansions. ...then again (as stated on the other thread...nobody wants to sound like BT Jr. :)

Because the whole thing is set up to use microsteps easily, there's the temptation to throw them over everything. I rarely, if ever, use them, and the product should function perfectly well without them. As you say, there's a vast sound library, and some of the programming ideas are good. It's just... ah, what I've said in a dozen other threads!

It's $88 in basket. I think that's a pretty sweet deal with all the expansions...if only to add a little extra flavour to primary tools.

Also value your time. Will you enjoy the time you spend learning to use it well?
Sadly, Iris2 is $88 in basket too-- it must also be at the end of its life. :(

Funny thing, I was looking at Iris 2 as well. I have v.1 but 2 looks a lot more useful beyond the semi-novelty of the spectral editing.

Now we have the $88 in cart wrinkle. I think I should go ahead and get BT and think a bit about Iris 2. Sometimes when you just pull something out of the dust, it can re-ignite a track that is stuck. BT might be nice to have on hand for this. For example, I pulled out Arturia Spark last night and was surprised how easily it fit in with the track I was doing. I don't think I'd ever used it before then.

I was going to recommend looking at jrrshop but found a big price tag for breaktweaker expanded.

@millersam - thanks for posting vid; revived my interest in it

Yes, I need to do my own homework, but does anyone know if BT will let you drag MIDI and/or audio loops to your DAW tracks? I prefer to arrange in the DAW. :?:
