After quite a few years of developing ideas I think I'm done.
It has quite a few unique and useful
Transformation features that I've been enjoying and want to share.
And I think its complete in all the other areas needed too, unless you have something to put on a wish list. That would be much appreciated.
Please read a few pages of the Help's 'Getting Started' to begin.
Criticism is always welcome too.

Looks really interesting! I think I'll give it a look soon, kind of busy at the moment.
I'm very curious what approach you used to design this, music theory wise.. So many possibilities. I will check it out and let you know what I think!
Very generous of you

Thanks very much. I will try it again after not looking at it for some time.
I have a lot more time now and will be able to spend more time with it.
Record says Demo Disabled. Should I look for my old key to activate?

Well-intentioned advice: especially with with a GUI like that, I suspect that you will need to make a video demo just so someone get the basic idea of what it does. Not everyone will download a demo just to find out.

As I recall it was a free key because I wanted to test registration.Musical Gym wrote:Thanks very much. I will try it again after not looking at it for some time.

But I'll gladly send you another since it helped. Just pm me your authorization code.

Thanks, I'll see if I can find it. So this is not freeware now? I must have gotten that idea from a previous post above.

Just go to license status under the help menu. One of those 3 buttons will show it.
No its not free. It was a huge investment.

Thanks Steve. I understand. i was just confused by earlier post about being generous.
Do you think you will ever make a tutorial video? It's still fairly complex for me.

Yes lots of possibilities, like a master of change-ups, you might say.
And that's a good question about my approach. Haven't thought about describing it till now!
I guess the key word is curiosity. Like wondering what would happen if I change something in the code - hence the various options on some features.
Like the Mute on-point feature on the keyboard for a location playing. Pointing to one spot will select from one to five notes to be muted depending on the virtual pointers you enable. Moving the pointer mutes more and unmutes the previous. Right clicking the Mute checkbox will invert what's muted. If it was complex at the start it can get interesting.
Or just curious about making the section indicator change (dance) dynamically with the location playing. And then having it trigger the notes you point to. Or using it to merge stored notes to the change points.
The only established music theory I can think of is used with the chord/scale generator. Modes used behind the scenes get chord formulas from scale formulas. For replacing channel harmony with chords, minimal change is the default basis for the other options.
The algorithmic pattern generation for notes pointed to just came together using a semi-random equation and stored notes, or Midi-input, to drive it. I lucked out on this. But other opinions may differ with a wrong approach, so you have to be careful and select your channels and filters, and find your sound with the pointer.
I think features are isolated enough so that you can explore one without worrying about what others do - though many can be used together. Store the good results and just take advantage of it - its your game and you're in charge.
Cheers,
Steve

You might want to start with importing a good midi file, storing it to a player button, and see how controls manipulate it. Or add patterns. And use the Help.
Note which features change or add to the stored location playing, and which features are used to accompany it.

With a sea of apps competing for attention, many of them looking much simpler than this one, I can't imagine many people will download, fiddle with it, and explore for themselves without at least some tiny hint from you about basic things like:
-- what does it do?
-- how does it sound?
If you 've spent years on this, can't you be bothered to take a few more minutes to answer these, even by way of an example or two?
Might be the only thing which stands between you and the app's success.

I didn't want to leave these questions unanswered for so long but CWPA needed an update which optimizes some pattern generation options.
Let me first give a couple of links to how it sounds - composition-wise since this is midi software, and the audio is just some original Orion plugins.
http://www.chordwarepa.com/cwpa_sample4.mp3 - this shows midi-in triggering of the player, a new feature.
http://www.chordwarepa.com/slow_winter.mp3 - this shows mainly the use of Harmony Replace using chord lists.
What you can do with it:
Generate filtered chord and lists and use to replace channel harmony. Chord menus can list extensions, variances, and scales. Scale menus can list neighboring scales and chord members. Get chords and scales from buttons playing, and use to generate other chords and scales. Roman numerals may be applied to chord roots.
Output may be routed to your Vst host. Input may come from: imported Midi, Midi-Input, onboard Arpeggiators and Add features, or just playing notes and chords with the mouse. All may be stored in real-time to a Player work area of 64 store/play buttons.
Accompany and synchronize with other software using Midi Input data and clock options.
Midi Input clock can be replaced by Midi Input notes to trigger arpeggiators, patterns, and Player content, with loop-feedback protection.
Midi Input may be stored along with triggered accompanyment.
Nudge stored note times to match either Midi Input or separate content, or use options to merge notes together of channels selected.
Select, mute, and move channels using color-coded channel lists.
Select notes using various methods, including filtered note select which can be used to trigger between notes playing.
Change note parameters by moving the pointer over the Keyboard's display, such as note velocity, values, times, and channels (swap existing or select).
Transform stored notes and the patterns they trigger with features like: reverse, shift, arrange, and merge.
Trigger patterns from a variety of sources (which can be used simultaneously), along with filters, speed settings, and pointer movement over the Keyboard's display.
Also use section indicator manipulations to trigger, or to modify stored note-times using a type of ‘Snap-To’ control.
Pattern filters include delay, and play at/between stored note option.
Manipulate overall timing using either Dice Time or Repeat Count controls to create loops and rhythms.
The piano roll’s Add, Move and Shape (click or drag) features may be harmonized to the overall source, or per section to separately stored ‘Acc’ contents.
Undo/Redo any stored changes, with a partial undo/redo option.
Store backups, or in real-time for patterns, sequences, Midi In, and import/export. (2 Players that open and save to separate files give you altogether 128 store/play locations.)
Thanks for all the feedback and happy new year!
Steve

TheoM wrote:Does this do what Cubase's chord track does? ie give you intelligent options that will definitely "go" with the chord just played, and then another after that, etc?
Basically yes, given your question at face value - I only know chord track from the video. A backup of the last chord normally is used for replacing with the next chord if you want a minimal change. The options for going beyond that I'm sure are different. Also you can use the last chord to generate choices for the next one. This started as a chord generator, so I think the overall differences will go well beyond these simple comparisons.
