Ok so Mass Sample Import in StiX (for a single import process. You can repeat as much as needed) :

Mac/Osx : Unlimited number of samples per operation
Windows : Up to 256 samples at a time. In case there are more than 256 samples to import in one operation : The browser sorting method will determine wich samples will be imported, and wich ones will be left for the next operation.

But, as you tried to import the rejected samples one by one, this is not the reason why some were not imported. So it narrows the case.

It's definitely not the number as I've tried to import them one at a time and still they don't import, so I'll zip up one of the folders which has both samples that import and don't import for you and shoot you a PM, hopefully it's nothing major and you can find the issue

Fixed in the next version ( Explanation : Some of the .wav files were in Broadcast Wav format, which include non audio data)

Hello. Yes, in general the VCA is controlled by velocity as you say but the Vel-VCA control itself doesn't work. That is, the volume of the drum modules fully respond to velocity regardless of how the Vel-VCA knob is set (ie you can't not have velocity control the VCA by turning the knob down if you want to).
So actually that knob doesn't work even more than the others, because even though the other knobs act as an offset to whatever parameter they are supposed to map to velocity, the Vel-VCA does nothing at all.

Again that is for notes triggered from a midi keyboard or drum pad. For the internal sequencer everything works as expected.

It would be very nice to have these controls work as they are supposed to. Especially velocity to filter and velocity to release are powerful controls for creating expressive drum sounds that highly playable.
I hope they are fixed in a future release.

October 1st 2019 Version 1.6 has been released.

StiX v 1.6 : Real Time Playing and Mass Import Samples functions enhanced

We have updated StiX real time capabilities.

Though StiX was from the very start programmed to mix the sequencer with real time play to make variations, the drum sounds triggered by a Midi keyboard, midi drumpads; or your daw sequencer did not benefit of the same features and modulations than the ones played by the sequencer : After a lot of work hours, It's now done, and it drastically extends Stix immersive power into any musical project.

StiX now handles Midi triggered velocity on filter, on VCA, and all other Velocity modulations on envelope parameters perfectly : You can now play StiX like any sophisticated drum machine or expander module. Even without the sequencer, you'll still have great and live, organic sounds.

Additionally some .wav audio files, like Broadcast Waves format, with an embedded extra information chunk in addition to the audio wave content itself did not import successfully in StiX. This is also solved.

And to celebrate all this, ... we're running a flash sales event :

Video a bit similar to the previous one , about mixing live drums and sequenced ones, except here it's a sampled based drumkit. Will bring back memories of Drumtracks, LinnDrum, SP12 etc early digital drum machines.

I'm having some nasty issues with v1.6 after installing it on top of the previous version (running the latest version of FL Studio on Win64). The preset/selection/setting boxes at the top of the screen are completely off for me, regardless of which GUI scale you configure (you can even see it in the preview pic of the YT vid above), and just changing a GUI scale setting and trying to reinitialize StiX in FL Studio crashes the entire DAW every single time I try.

Anyone else facing similar issues?

Thanks for the report. Yes, it's true the labels are a bit off in the video. Strange that after working countless hours on a version, we're unable to see such things

Please revert to the previous version until it's fixed, and also I'd recommend to join Xils using the contact form on their site with your details (OS/Daw/StiX) so that the crash problem is also fixed.(if it's not only graphic routines related)

Last beta version version fixes the GUI elements which were a bit off in 1000 & 1200 px.
For the crash problem when changing size of the plug then relaunching the unit, please make sure, or verify, that StiX is intalled in a directory where you have full rights (as explained in the manual), or try to run it with admin rights.

Hi, I bought Stix today, thanks for the sale! the 1.6 iLok version will not install, says the installer file is corrupted while extracting the main .dll. I was able to install the previous 1.5x version without trouble, attempted to download the 1.6 file three times, and failed all three.

edit: its the windows version iLok

Thanks for the report, yes it was a faulty upload, leading to a corrupted file, sorry for that. The installer is now correct, please download it again and reinstall and it should be ok.

Flash Promo will end tomorrow morning. Actually the 50 licences were already sold out two days ago, but as the KVR news (and other sites) had still not been published, there is a 2 days grace period.

I get glitchy sounds from oscillators if I run my soundcard at higher sample rates like 88khz. Is this intended?

Some sad news on Facebook from the Xils Labs team
"We are very sad to announce that Laurent Bourgeon passed away last week after having fought cancer for months.
He was also known as Lotuzia and manager of Le Lotus Bleu, created thousands of preset for XILS-lab synth and also designed some of our effects (R.A.M.S.E.S and LeMasque:Delay) as well as our drum machine (StiX).
A big loss of the music world, XILS-lab and his Family.
Laurent will still be among us through all the music he created"
