"| (shift+backslash) Split Phrases At Chord Boundaries...." , does it work on german keyboard ?

Hello, I see no menu for doing this, and i find in the keyboard shortcuts something that can do it. I guess this command can split a phrase in 2 phrases. I load in a song in midi format and i now want split it in 2 bars phrases. I guess when i put the play marker to 3.1 i can then create 2 phrases out of 1. first is from 1.1 to 3.1 and the other is from 3.1 to song end. But nothing happen. On german keyboard | or \ key is reach with altgr. altgr send always ctrl+alt key. to reach this | key you must press ctrl+alt(altgr) + <> key. I guess this do nothing because rapid composer do with ctrl +alt key diffrence.

thanks, this work. with the keyboard shortcut on german keyboard it do not work, now it is clear. german keyboard layout is also used in switzerland, austria, sweden maybe some more. here is link how it look. The | can only reach if press altgr key

Btw, i notice now due luck, that RC allow split when press right mouse key over a phrase(when the phrase was not set before, and position the play cursor) and you are in gear wheel mode, so can see the actions(in inspector) can do. The actions what can do is dynamic add and hide. For example when click left to activate a phrase and then press right button, and the play pointer is on unusable position, the menu split at Bar do not come. It is more easy to see whats possible when all operations can see and only the things that can not do have lighter color. near all programs do. but disadvantage is, that it need more space.

Better solution i see is, when in the info text is a button to start manual or wiki howto and all options can see, are explain short and what need select, so they are show. To join phrases it is named as "glue Selected phrases" and this option can only reach if there are 2 or more phrases select that are near.

good point, using the backslash key was a problem in the past on different keyboards.

thanks, the keyboard define work for the split. that altgr+<> key do not work, is the reason, because windows seem send a additional unneeded keycode when press altger. When press alt ger, RC show it as a key CTRL+ALT+[18]. You can simulate what happen, when you press ctrl key then alt key. RC recognize this too as CTRL+ALT+[18]. the <> key have the code 226. but it is not important to fix soon, only that you know, what happen

When i load a midi song, phrases are very long. when i click on a phrase it begin play and when i press key to split, then it can happen, that the note that is currently play in preview hang and sound endless. I see esc press help, but it jump after the 1. esc press to bar 1(I have no range select and i have loop play off). Or when i have a range select, esc jump to begin of range. so i need scroll back.

I like the feature that esc jump to begin of song, or begin of range. but i think on 1. press it should only stop notes(if play is enable), on 2. press jump to range start, if any, and on 3. press jump to song start. and maybe when press more it toggle to jump between song start and range start.

EDIT: The note hang happen, because the song use sustain pedal. RC is really great by importing midi. all controller, pitch bend, modulation is correct play
