Wusikstation V8 opinions?

There is a group buy:
http://wusik.com/ww/products/wusik-station-v8
I qualify for an upgrade from V7, but I have not used it much, I am wondering if upgrading will make the libraries more accessible or improve the overall experience in Wusikstation. I don't use most of the bells and whistles of V7, my feeling is V8 is more straightforward, I don't know if that is true. Any opinions on this plugin?

Ah, I do see there is a demo so I'll give that a shot.

Yeah, I'm not terribly impressed with the demo, they moved the mod matrix to a new page, I was hoping usability was improved but I'm not so sure. V7 is looking pretty good right now.

I am really impressed about the huge sound library you will get with a license. Literally tons of sounds. Just for this it is imo already well worth the money.

Yeah, just I already own the library, for the most part.

Well v8 is a huge improvement against v7. Better/more filters, better/more oscillator types (drawable osc, "super osc", etc.), better envelopes (multilines), better audio manipulation (granular synthesis, looper, etc.), better sequencers, better effects (improved reverb and unison). Better GUI imho.
So I would recommend the upgrade
There is overlap when you already own Wusik 8000 though.

Oh, I was trying to fix the link to the group buy link, and inadvertently made another posts. Oops.braj wrote:There is a group buy:

Yeah, I'll definitely be upgrading, by New Years Day. We need 17 others besides me though, the group buy has been stalled at 82 for a while now.

Indeed, this time of the year people are busy with other stuff. By January 2 things should move faster...

Hi WillamK!
We have end of December now, a group buy after another, and nothing happened with my reported bugs of V8 (8.0.2) from June and July. So, that's why I still use V7 instead of V8!
And there also nothing has been happened with the bugs of Wusik 8000 (1.1.2), reported in February.
Regards, Robert

I find WusikStation 8 a fantastic product, for a low price I have got a very capable synth with immense depth, the possibilities to shape sound seem limitless by layering samples, wavesequences, regular 3xOSC (or just draw the OSC), putting all that through a plentiful fx section, and do final processing in the meaty modulation room
One thing I miss though, seems WusikStation can't layer sample patches anymore

Yes, this is one feature I would like to see in W8 as well.Numanoid wrote:One thing I miss though, seems WusikStation can't layer sample patches anymore
If WusikStation 8 were to get this feature in a future update, then I believe it would become my most favorite synth.
For now though, all I can do is hope that will happen, one day, maybe.
Patch Layers, to me, makes W7 still very relevant, and I tend to use W8 in more of a supporting role to W7.
The addition of patch layers to W8 would probably see me using W8 a lot more than I currently do. Don't get me wrong here, W8 sounds very, very good. But, after having W7 and then getting W8, the missing patch layers feature really kinda limits the creative potential, at least I think so. Of course, this all could just be my mind playing tricks on me (that does happen from time to time

Couple of other niggles I got, it uses a bit of CPU, and even when idle I got a CPU meter at 25% of usage
Also, notes easily get stuck, and can't make them to unstick even when pushing the stop button in FL Studio. Maybe that is what the Panic option is for in the WS 8 menu?
It would be great if patch layering would be reintroduced in WusikStation 8
It seems kind of futile to offer users the chance to download the whole backcatalog of Wusik libs when buying WusikStation 8, and then not opening for layering of patches.
I can add additional sample layers, but I can load a patch into that only a wav file, and that is half way at most, as most patches are made up of more than one sample
The cool thing about WusikStation 7 was that one quickly could build a staple sound, need a pad/piano sound, just add a layer for pad and a layer for piano.
