Hi,
I tried to switch from S1 V2 to Bitwig but finally gave up. Demo'ed Bitwig for a week but couldn't click with it.
Like to hear your "DAW switch" success story within this year... Anyone ?

As I said elsewhere, I'd seriously like to give DP a shot. It requires a bit of work rewiring this brain, however, as their workflows appear to be so unique, almost counterintuitive for those of us used to the linear, MIDI / Audio region based DAWs. absolutely.. I switched from Logic X to Cubase 8. Couldn't be happier
I bet once you're up to speed, you'd be happy you learned the new architecture. If you're on the production end, and particularly if you work with scoring, you'd be that much more marketable.

Switched from Sonar Platinum to Studio One shortly after release of Studio One 3, tried the demo, purchased the x grade (thank you very much), haven't looked back since.
There is nothing I miss from Sonar, however if I was to go from Studio One back to Sonar there would be a lot I would miss, but that's not going to happen.
Long time Cakewalk user, Pro Audio days, didn't like the Subscription thing, the monthly fix 1 bug add 3 more rinse and repeat thing. Personal opinion of the 'Roll Back' feature is that it is basically a license to release half baked buggy software, which there has been plenty, the start menu for one, the very entry to the program was half arsed when released, the CCC itself, the very gateway to cakewalk products now, was, and arguably still is, a steaming pile of crap. Releasing stuff like this in the state it is seems to be 'ok' now, because you can just 'roll back' if you have an issue. The feeling of being an unpaid BETA tester was real and a bit much to take. They obviously don't have any BETA testers (many half baked stuff for Sonar, Rapture Pro, Z3TA+2 to name a few examples), which is pretty much validated by the 'BETA Testers' Position add placed on the forums by Cakewalk.
Non Sonar related, but still relevant is Rapture Pro, the latest Z3TA+2 releases, Rapture Pro's release was a joke, even over the course of 2 subsequent updates and 8 months it was a joke, finally it is taking shape, but come on ??? The much awaited Z3TA+2 update (how many years ?) an absolute disaster for those foolish enough to install it. After a couple of goes they seem to almost have it sorted for most, but really . . .
The problem is this type of thing is like an infectious disease running throughout Cakewalk, and one might argue has been for some time, but it seems to be getting worse, and the 'roll back' feature I am afraid is a license to continue releasing 'half baked goods'.
Back on track, very happy with my switch to Studio One, couldn't be happier.

I moved from Cakewalk Sonar to REAPER and have never been happier with a DAW.

I switched from Live 9 to Studio One v3, upgrading from V2. I owned three DAWs, and I was a little frustrated with Live, saw that the scratch pad took care of what I needed out of Live clip view, so sold Live, upgraded S1 and bought a few other things. I haven't actually finished any songs lately, but that is because of issues independent of the DAW. Studio One v3 fits me like a glove, and I still have Reaper to fool around with on the side. Now if I could just get what is in the deepest recesses of my being into words and music... alas, no DAW helps with that.

Bought and ditched - Samplitude ProX2 - buggy as hell with VST3.
Tested ProTools Express/11 trial - and decided not to go there, now at least. Very good, but really takes over and expects to be alone on a machine is my view. Attractive crossgrade offers until dec 31st - but better having a fully working machine since 5 years and not cause issues. PT put screen in some power saving mode or something - so lost intensity starting it. Lost contact with audio interface etc.
A short session with DP9 trial - just absolutely hate, I mean hate, hate, hate the midi style of recording loosing clips. A dozen key commands are needed to quickly select anything you want to work with. Also double cpu usage compare to any other daw(windows).
Base has been Sonar Artist and bought Cubase Pro 8 to get notation I need.
But now spending some weeks with Cubase Pro 8.5 - I think the swap is about to happend. Some brickwalls to penetrate - but through I really start to like it.
It depends a bit if Cakewalk has something telling they listen to voted requests or not. It is a year since new policy and expect they might have saved something for the big crowd that bought in a year ago.
Sonar still leads in workflow - smarttool giving you access to most things you do often without changing tool. Cubase is a constant switch of tools - mostly select and range - but left hand hitting key 1 or 2 to switch is almost in backbone now.
Top vote on Cubase though, very handy with notation in same daw and endless amount of features I appreciate more and more. Reservation if Sonar come up with Arranger tracks feature - it might be Cakewalk getting another subscription.

Switched (back) to Cubase (Pro 8.5, PC) after a few years with Presonus. I had moved to Studio One from Cubase but always missed some of the functionality. 8.5 is a monster, still loads I have to discover.
