I can't find where it says how to transfer an Arturia license to someone else. When I look it up on their site, it mentions how to do that, but it's older instructions using a dongle/e-licenser, but not with the Arturia Software Center. It's probably right in front of me, but I just can't find it. :?

I think this support thread tells how. http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=7195.0

Short version:
Please send an email from your registered address to registration-inquiry@arturia.com, with the serial number you wish to release and the registered email address of the new owner.
How does this work when eLicenser isn't involved?
You should contact he support they will transfer the product to the new user.

- Then select "I want to transfer my license to another user..." in the Type of problem field
- Then include your info in the description...
First Name:
Last Name:
Email:
Product Name:
Serial Number:
Unlock Code:
- Then include the new owner's Arturia account email address

That's it.

Great! Thanks :)

I had the Jupiter 8V already, but then I got the V Collection and so I wanted to transfer that one.

I think mikebenson's procedure will be better. They probably both end up the same but if Arturia has an option in the contact form just for that purpose it might go quicker.

I'm in the same situation you are — bought J8V (and long ago Modular V), got the bundle, and now want to sell the singles. I've got some NFRs from way back too but of course those aren't resellable.

Post

Keep in mind that if you going to sell the bundle one day you must also have the source of the upgrade in your account as it only can be sold together. So you knock yourself out and make your bundle NFR if you sell the source of your upgrade now (which is possible afaik).
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Thanks, but it was a totally separate deal that I got for the V Collection, and not an upgrade.

Not a problem for me but it might be for others.

[eta] I emailed support to ask whether I could sell (non-NFR) licenses I upgraded to the bundle from, but didn't ask whether the bundle would be NFR. Anyone who thinks they might want to go that route might want to contact support beforehand.

I almost never sell software I've bought, especially if I've used it in a composition. ISTR selling, or giving, my eXT license to Theo many years ago. That might be the only time.

Same, I was offered the V collection at a special price. No mention of upgrade or crossgrade path.

NB) For my individual licences, I simply deregistered them from my mac (Arturia Software Center), and then contacted Arturia support to release the serial/unlock code form my account to provide to a new user.

Do they charge for license transfers? I am trying to give duplicates to my nephew.

Post

nope

Post

Does it matter if the license is unregistered or not.
I unregistered one and sent it to my nephew.
Should I re-register it?

Arturia are very good about transfer requests in my experience. I gave a spare copy of Analog Lab to a friend of mine using the support forum on their website as previously discussed on this thread. They processed the request in 24 hours and my pal had his new toy in know time flat.

Unregistered is best as it's just like new. Just let them have the serial/unlock code and register it to their own account.
