Please recommend me granular synthesizer plugins. If it had some analog modelling filters it would be advantage.

If you also could post some good tutorials on granular synthesis I will be grateful :P

Steinberg Retrologue? They just released version 2. Get it with VST collection if you can. http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/vs ... start.html ... Oops- wait a minute. I meant Padshop. Lol. http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/vs ... start.html

IMO, the best one is The Mangle but the developer takes very long vacations and communication is almost non existent.

Still, it is my favorite granular synth hands down. Falcon comes close but it's more of an all around synth and its granular controls are not quite as advances as The Mangles though it is very close. But the Falcon is kind of overkill and for the price, if you just want a granular synth, you're probably better off going with The Mangle.

Now, if support is a concern, I recommend Padshop Pro. It's very good and Steinberg doesn't go AWOL on you, though sometimes it does take a little time (a few days) to get an issue settled.

What do you think about Granulator II? I just wonder if this is good idea to get into granular synthesis using this plugin and than move to something more complex.

My favorite is still Alchemy (of course, that doesn't help if you don't already own it or aren't going to buy Logic X), but The Mangle is excellent. Reaktor does granular and a lot more. New Sonic Arts' Granite is another one to check out.

Not a bad idea if you have Live Suite (it needs m4L).

If you have Ableton with m4l there are some crackers out there

Looks like you do have m4l, in which case check out Density and Pulsaret

If you have Reaktor there are loads of free granular synths.

Omnisphere 2 had fairly limited granular controls but what it does sounds great.

Wusikstation does granular and you can always find it on sale as a group buy.

Best been said.
Retrologue
Reaktor tons out there, check their webpage for the freebies.
The Mangle is a bargain and very intuitive. |Needs support, hugs and love |

Granulator II is great , provided you have Live + MAx4Live. It's really very (very!) versatile. If you're like me, you might underestimate the Ableton stuff because the UIs are so simple. Yeah, I admit it: wooden panels just make everything sound better. ;) But that's just wrong, especially in this case. And it's actually more complex than a lot of the granular synths out there.

That said, the Mangle is my current granular go-to. I also always have a special place in my heart for Granite, which features a very unique real-time modulation system that's fun to use and yields great results.

Thank you all for replies. Now I will stay with Granulator II and maybe then I will check some of your propositions :P

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Granite is fairly neat at doing interesting atmospheres.
