Apparently he had heart issues. A heart attack back in March, from which he had recovered though. But I guess he may have been pushing himself too hard again. Sad news... RIP.

I don`t regret any of the time I spent listening to them in the `60s like 'experimental crow' seems to have.
Albums like;
- Surrealistic Pillow (1967)
- After Bathing at Baxter's (1967)
- Crown of Creation (1968)
- Bless Its Pointed Little Head (1968)
- Volunteers (1969)
...were part of the musical soundtrack of my youth.
I`ve seen the 'Starship' band a few times at free festivals, but not the 'Airplane'.
Saw 'Hot Tuna' a few times.
No doubt Kantner can truly be called a musical pioneer...i`m glad I was there to witness those albums being released.

....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here.

"Surrealistic Pillow" was one of my "wow" albums when growing up -- discovering the Sixties on the far side. It's sad that so many of the innovators from this era are gone. RIP Paul.
