Latin Percussion is a sample-based plugin emulation of the Sound Master Latin Percussion, a rare analog drum machine from the 80s.
The instrument features 6 classic latin sounds: Bass, Low Conga, High Conga, Bongo, Claves, and Maracas, which can be pitched, panned or mixed independently. You can additionally shape the sound with the Overdrive and Reverb.
The sequencer lets you easily build patterns that can be dragged and dropped to your DAW/host.

Specifications
  • - Price: $39 / €39
    - 6 classic latin sounds
    - 20 Factory Presets / 9 Factory Patterns
    - Overdrive and Reverb Effects
    - Sequencer with MIDI Drag to DAW
    - Preset system with randomizer
    - Formats: VST, AU, and AAX (32/64bit)

Just out f interest, I have noticed on the last two plugins (This and the clap) you have started to use that bent 3D look on your UIs, you are not going to be using that on all plugins going forwards are you ?
Your effect plugins with the top down view are much easier on the eyes ;)

Well, this is a long topic :) I do prefer top down or even flat view, but I thought that on such plugins, the 3D with a slight perspective was good. I'm not sure yet, but I probably think I'll move to 2D/flat UIs again soon, at least for product which are not emulations of a specific hardware. It's still a big debate with my GUI designer though.
TheoM wrote:I noticed there is no demo for this or the claps? Or am i mistaken? Just want to make sure they work well for me on my machine in all my daw's. I am really into the latin one going by the video demo and i just LOOOOVE the sequencer.. so so easy to use.
No demo sorry. We decided not to give demos for plugins like this and Hand Clapper. However, we do have a full refund policy if for whatever reason our plugins don't work on your system and we can't fix the problem. This happened only a few times over the years though (and mostly with obscure/rare DAWs).

I'm in... great little plugin. I think its usage is not very wide, but I have the feeling (after playing with it a little), if it nails it that it will nail for 110% :D

Love the random functions on the sequencer. Cool latin sounds.

It'd be nice if it had multi-out though. Missing that one

TheoM wrote:Ok well your effects demos are working fine so i presume the instruments will be the same.
Yes, they should be exactly the same. But if you have any problem just let me know.
TheoM wrote:BTW please if you will ever reconsider your demo policy on the FX, it is very intrusive :(

Every time it seems i am getting somewhere it cuts out for three whole seconds and throws me off my game. I don't understand and never will why you can't either offer 30 minutes of uninterrupted workflow or a full demo for a couple weeks.
I suppose I can do something like that, but I'm not really sure honestly. Many suggested to introduce white noise instead of silence. I'll think about that anyway.
TheoM wrote:Are you releasing more percussion plugins in future and will there be a bundle just for the instruments?
Definitely yes! I'm working on two other drum machines, one is the "twin" of the Latin Percussion (https://www.instagram.com/p/_HeLF8G6kf/) and will be again sample-based, another will be a soviet drum machine (https://www.instagram.com/p/95CT4Zm6ob/ the big black one) which will be a mixture of physical modelling synthesis and samples.
Then I'm also working on a HiHat dedicated plugin, as many requested after Hand Clapper.

Yes, I do have plans for a bundle, and previous customers will always get the same price. But it's too soon to speak about that now.

Thanks! Yes indeed, it's a quite simple instrument, but feeding it through modulation effects can get some nice results (check the end of the video demo).

Multi-out is already on the todo list for an upcoming update. Keep the feedback coming :)

Thanks! I fell in love with it when I saw it on eBay :)
Maurizio?

Anyway, I think that it's a very rare drum machine, there aren't many info/details on the net compared to the other Sound Master drum machines.

TheoM wrote:ok since there is no penalty to buy now then even when a bundle comes (great policy btw), i'm in for the latin later today and probably the clapper next week :) Cheers
Cool, let me know what do you think ;)

The SR88 is really lovely. It's always said to be a DR55 clone, but it isn't.
