My first encounter with his music came via Thomas Dolby in 1984. At that time I was unaware that it was a cover of an original from 10 years earlier:-

Can`t say I followed his music, but I can recognize him for his contribution to bringing mountain music to my ears along with the Maldaurs and Mcgarrigles among others.

Yes,ha, after I posted that it hit me. I should have written ' a Django Reinhardt jazz style within a bluegrass/Appalachian mountain style'.
I forgot to edit that. I knew it would come back to bite me.

I remember "I Scare Myself". Thomas Dolby covered that on one of his not so popular LPs.
