Hello. Im plan to purchase Usamo
but I'm not entirely sure that it is suitable for my current setup.
I have Elektron Octatrack and couple of synth modules. I'm plan to use Elektron like midi sequencer for synths coupled with ableton.
My setup should look like this.
Apogee ensemble audio out > USAMO > Usamo Clock > Octatrack > Octatrack send sequences to synths via midi OUT (chaining synth with midi THRU) > Octatrack and Synths audio outs to Apogee Ensemble audio IN > ableton. So far it seems logical for me.
What I can expect with this setup?
in theory, this chain will give a midi (and overall) latency after each element, right?
Also what about plugins what give latency? then situation is better as I understand.
audio pulses which are created by plugin will be shifted by the total daw latency and the clock will be distributed with delay compensation, right?
And last question about Setup and Test part what I'm found in manual.
Connect a MIDI cable from the USAMO to an input on another MIDI interface connected to your computer.
I'm using Apogee Ensembe sound card witch don't have any midi connections.
how in this case, to make tests? This is possible through?
Have there is a cheap simple usb > midi converter.
Thanks!

Sounds like it should work. You can shift the clock to account for any latency.
You need a MIDI input on the computer to run the test. However, if you're just using the USAMO for clock it should be easy enough to get it running without using the self-test - just connect it up and adjust the trim until the Octatrak gets a solid clock.

I have an identical setup. Even rocking the ensemble. Just fired up my usamo, but so far octatrack is not reacting well at all, either outright ignoring the usamo, or worse, it seems to glitch out some of the projects and erase trigs and stuff. still waiting to hear back from support, but there is hope in that I can't find anyone else out there with experiencing this crazy problem. will lt you know if I get it running smoothly

So since I'm still thinking about choosing with USAMO or more expensive but by reviews more stable E-RM Multiclock.
