Latch functionality in VSTS

Hey

For a while now I've been looking for arpeggiator latch functionality on a VST that works in the same way as my Korg R3 hardware synth.

What I am finding with vsts (Omnisphere for example) is that when latch mode is activated:

Step 1: playing a chord will cause the arpeggiated pattern to keep playing when you take your hands off the keyboard

Step 2: any additional notes or chords played will be added to the first sequence, so both the old and new note combine in a sequence.

With my R3 step 1 is the same but in step 2 any additional chords or notes will create a new sequence of only the new notes, replacing the first sequence.

I've been surpised to not find this feature in software form, either in a synth, DAW or stand alone arpeggiator, as its a feature i love for live performance.

I'd really appreciate any feedback on products i might have missed or ideas on work arounds.

If anyone is using a hardware synth with this functionality i'd love to hear about it too as its
a feature I'll be looking for in a new synth pretty soon.

Thats actually a great idea i hadn't considered.
Having not used a sustain pedal...would holding it down while changing chords replace one sequence with another? Or would you need to press down the sustain pedal each time you change chords?

I'd also be interested to know if theres any software out there that could achieve this without the need for additional hardware.

Have you tried Bluearp by Graywolf? Ii has a latch mode and I think it worked the way you described.

The latch on Bluearp is exactly what I was looking for all this time, and it doesn't hurt that its an awesome little arpeggiator too

nice one...will be spending the afternoon learning it inside and out
