RC as a Plug-In
in OSX, this doesn't work, period. When I insert RC into a midi-track in Ableton, I get this ridiculous box in return:

That's it. No clicking whatsoever will make RC come up. End of story. When I open RC myself, it comes up as the standalone-version.
Over time, with different beta-versions of RC, I've seen different results for the same approach. Sometimes, RC did open in slave mode, but once I started making some settings it crashed. Or something else.
But ok. I give up. I don't want to go endlessly on Attila's nerve, since I seem to be the only Ableton/OSX user here, I guess it's simply not worth his limited time. Plus: I could live with it, provided that I could get the standalone version properly connected. But no luck here, either. See the following:
Someone had proposed to install Copperlan, as a way to create "virtual midi cables", in order to connect each of RC's tracks with an individual track in Live. So I did.

Then I go into RC's Settings, Midi tab, and indeed: The new channels VMidi1 and 2 are there. Since VMidi2 is set as the Midi Out, I would expect it to function as Midi In in Live - right? So let's go to Live.

As you can see, I went to the Preferences and made sure that all possible income channels are selected in the upper part of the window: VMidi2, Rapid Composer Virtual Midi Output, IAC-Driver 1.
then I also switched on (in the lower part of the window, the green squares) again each of those channels for all their features (Track, Sync and Remote). Now let's go to the main screen. Here's one empty channel strip:

Its MIDI From selector is set to All Ins and All Channels. So I might expect to hear or see some sign of signal-reception? But no luck.
But we have more options! Let's change the selector to VMidi 2:

Or to IAC-driver 1.
Or to Rapid Composer virtual midi out … you get the picture. I tried all of the options, of course.
I also tried to switch the track on for recording:

You think I get a signal? Nooooooo!
So what the heck is this? Why does it have to be so hard?
