So. How many times have you tried to leave KVR and why do you keep coming back? And what are your reasons for leaving and coming back?

Basically I have tried to get off for good several times, simply to find time to make music with my gear instead of discussing it. But then I take a sneak peak and suddenly I see that some completely anonymous member write something that is SO wrong that it just has to be corrected for the sake of mankind, for we all know that when somebody on the internet claim authority and expertise within a specific topic, people will believe it blindly and that has to be stopped immediately.

So tell me your stories about the necessities to come back and discuss the same topics over and over again despite your efforts to quit for good.

I've never tried to leave for good, but there have been a few times when things got a little too dramatic or boring here, so I stayed away for a few weeks or months. The only reason I keep coming back is because nobody ever notices that I'm absent. :hihi:

Why do you belittle your own interest in this way?

If you like to do that, so what. Live and let live

Why do I keep on reading newspaper, it's basically the same news that was yesterday.

Why do I keep on breathing, it's the same old air always was.

I feel more sorry for those how have no hobby or interest, just to go to work (or whatever another day entails), and sit infront of the box afterwards, day after day, year after year.

You don't leave KVR. KVR leaves you. :borg:

I never left. I am sticking around until we resolve the analog vs. digital debate. :)

To joke a little about it. It is just the question that I ask myself. Maybe the topics is not what is important here but the internet socialisation in itself. Maybe it is just a compulsive disorder, I don't really know tbh, that's why I ask for your inputs to get a little wiser.

Tomorrow, tomorrow.. :hihi:
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I guess sniping is a more noble hobby :P

How do you think your life should be to make it less compulsive disorder'ish, if that is a target for you

Is quitting KVR the only thing?

I will defer to your expert opinion on that topic.

Never left here but i spend more time at GS now as the hardware community is stronger than here

...mention a DSI synth here or a vco and people are like durp...dafuk
live 11 / Arturia collection / many Softube plug ins / thats it

I've never been on GS much, as i'm a software guy anyway. But the forums overview looks absolutely horrible, and unclear. I wouldn't even know which forum i should browser there to discuss software, as they're also not really named very clear. Low end theory, high end theory, wah?

I barely check in here anymore. I've KVR more about technology than about actually writing and composing music which is my interest. We are way beyond adequate as far as gear choices and computer technology to produce stunning music, but in my mind, the people producing music fall short on actual music theory/composition, the language of music, and to compensate resort to producing trippy sounds and obsessing over filters and cucuits instead which in the end is pretty boring...
