STFree sounds at esoundz?

I downloaded some of the free sounds from www.esoundz.com (being careful to get the SampletankFREE versions) but when I tried to use them in STFree I get a dialog box that says "These sounds cannot be used in this version of Sampletank".
Am I doing something wrong?

Philip

This is still there???? Wow. Somebody made a mistake there. These don't work in SampleTank FREE. They work in SampleTank. The sounds from SR that do work with SampleTank FREE are on www.sampletank.com
We'll have to update that although this is deja vu because it came up before and I thought this was updated. Guess not. Sorry about that.
How cool would it be if there was a SampleTank 2 FREE though?

Thanks Squids! I don't know what the deal is with that. I already had all the free sounds from www.sampletank.com. At esoundz, there is a bunch of sounds for ST2, and above that is a link that says something like "these sounds don't work in STFree. To get versions that work in STfree, go here", giving a link to a second page. That's where I downloaded from, and they *don't* work in STFree. But the weird thing is, the ZIP files have a prefix like STF_SS<whatever>.zip, which presumably means thet *are* meant to work in STFree. So I'm confused.
You are saying that the only sounds that work in STFree are the dozen or so at sampletank.com, right?
Ok, fair enough - I'm not complaining, since it's a gift anyway :) And yes, ST2Free would be *very* nice :)

Philip

Yeah. Whatever is available from sampletank.com is for the old free version which will be retired at some point... maybe soon.
We'll have to change that on the site. Sorry about that. There's a lot o fnew free stuff coming though. Also, if you go get yourself SampleTank 2 itself you can get 100 free combis and 75 free multifx patches for it as well as other cool things.

FWIW, this page is still there and still active. Strange that this page is specifically for sounds to work with STFree, but they don't work.
I was looking forward to trying the guitar collection sounds...

There are versions of these sounds that do work that were available on www.sampletank.com though. They have to be coded specially to work with the FREE version, but these same patches were originally for SampleTank 1.... hmmm... actually I just had an idea. A little surprise for everyone.
