Once in a while, information about a secret mode in the NordLead 1 and 2 appear on the net. It brings the synthesizer into an odd and very noisy mode that is frankly a rather interesting improvement of this synth. It also gets really really really loud, so watch out!

Anyway, a friend of mine has a Nord II, and he claims to have accidentally entered "a weird mode that sounded like extremely harsh saw tooth waveforms". I immediately thought of Pelle's Mode, dug up the instructions on how to enable it, gave him a good long demo of what it can do (at least what I know of), but his reply surprised me: "No no, it wasn't like this at all. More like some sort of sharp supersaw thing. Also, this 19-65 combination is entirely new to me. I never did that before."

So now I believe there are actually two hidden modes in this synthesizer. Does anyone know how to get into the other mode?

See this thread at electro-music.com for more details on the Pelle mode. Probably worth asking over there as it's kind of the unofficial Nord users' hub.

Would be cool if other synths had such features. :phones:
