Getting pretty close to finishing my latest album: space music and semi-ambient chillout. It's been years in the making so I want it done right and am happy to pay.
Last album I found a mastering engineer through friends and recommendations and they were OK, but now several years on I think I could do just as well. But I don't want that, I want someone dispassionate and who has a much finer touch.
What's the best way to locate such a person or mastering house? Unless I can find a human with understanding of the genre I think I might as well go with an automated service and be satisfied with volume matching.
All suggestions very welcome.

I'd be willing to help you out, what genre are you talking about? If it's not something I think I could handle, I know quite a few other ME's who I might be able to recommend.

This was a fun track I did a while back for the one synth challenge. Album tracks are a bit like this, but usually bigger and more melodic.

Generally, I specialise in mastering all forms of electronica. Please check my list of clients in this field at my website (in my sig). You can also hear many results on my 'listen' and 'clients' pages.
I would highly advise against any auto-mastering service. This is the equivalent of flushing your music down the lavatory. I've heard many results from such services that all but destroy your music.

I can master for low price, all genre, quality + recalls and fast results are the priority of our studio.
