Hi guys,
I never used much music theory, but lately I am delving more into the theory side of it.
So, sometimes I like to variate my melody by changing the key. Let's say I have a melody in C major, and this is the key of the song. I sometimes will go to G major, but not just the chord, I then transpose the whole melody to start in G major. But then the leading note will be F# instead of B, and F# is not in C major, the original key of the song.
So..should it make more sense to use F as a leading note, so I will stay in C major scale? Or is it normal to change scales within the song as well? I mean in a situation where I only briefly variate by going to G major, and then the song goes back to C major.

If you're transposing to Gmaj from Cmaj, why are you worried that your new melody doesn't fit in C? You're in a new key! Sure, avoiding notes that aren't in both might make the change less apparent but is that really a good thing?
Try starting it with an F, sure. See how it sounds. If it sounds good, then it's good.

It's always OK to proceed a key change with a V-1 progression into the new key. In your case that would be either D7 or Dmin7 to G - (F# or F natural, respectively). Both are acceptable.
