I don't get the Connection with FL Studio? ..as if I can't make nice Jazz tunes and other Music with FLS.
So is Spire is a typical EDM synth and will die to? Or how about many of the other synths?

Kinda funny. Considered that none of the local acts mentioned in the article come close to Psy - Gangnam Style. Released on July 15, 2012.
Now has 2,551,767,754 views on yt.
But these local acts are fun, of course.

Before EDM there was dubstep and before that trance...And FL has survived each wave. I think FL studio is pretty healthy.

EDM peaked? Kinda but I think it peaked 10 years ago, the whole premise of EDM is on finding new, new, new, new sounds, new beats, new x/y/z and there is almost no substance behind any of it. Gotta have something new constantly or your dead as an EDM artist and it's gotta be the latest BS trend or nobody listens.
Then we get some flake on the stage basically doing not much more than a button press and some crossfades. But hell, if you pay me what the big names do I'll stand up there and push some buttons with my hands in the air while some chick takes off her top and flashes me.
Beatport is really mediocre, very little variety there.
It's total musical junk food, and frankly I love it. It makes regular rock or jazz or whatever sound empty and stone age. But yes, they need to play some of the parts on a keyboard live or something otherwise no one is ever going to take EDM seriously. But hey, only a little over 2 months until I'm off the Vegas for EDC with my VIP tickets. If you don't like it you know where to go.

Stuff people who doesn't dig says over and over again. I agree that the charts are garbage nevertheless.DodgingRain wrote:

Reality is that Beatport has the biggest catalog of all online stores, and its main problem too since stuff gets buried fast.
It is a big and unpleaseant digging experience, unless you have built a long list of labels and producers you are following and have bought many tracks so it can recommend you stuff similar to it.
I have tried to change to track or Juno, but for me the front store has even worse interface than beatport and well they always miss some release, you can not get the full discography of an artist there. or at least in the genres I care for (Techno, tech house).
The kind of labels I follow are: Traum, Systematic, Diynamic, MFB, harthouse, Herzblut, Trapez, Smallvile, Ostut got and similar stuff.
And I always discover stuff based on "users also bought" recomendations, but well I have been using the site since 2006.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

Edm did not explode in 10s. Only in north america. It was already mainstream mid 90s in Europe. It'll be a while yet. Only thing that's dead is hair rock.

Right. Dance music had been kind of stigmatized and shunned out of the US mainstream market with the oversaturation of disco in the late 70's. 30 years later and the market started to open up again, and we began to see labels pushing hard on promoting these new millenial celebrity producers and DJs, coining "EDM" as a nice new marketable term for the same old crap. Whether it's going to be a repeat of the disco backlash remains to be seen. Although I doubt it with how much the world has changed since then. Pretty much every type of music that makes a big cultural impact has a big peak before it normalizes. That's when people proclaim something to be "dead" since apparently that brief peak is the only thing that matters when it comes to cultural relevance.Debutante wrote:Edm did not explode in 10s. Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Guys... let's be honest. FL Studio can ONLY be used for EDM. It's commonly known that that is so. The linked article proves it. Although i did not read it at all.

This loser use FL + Miro1 for his orchestral stuff not very promising..
