audio2dj problem

Hi all, hopefully this is the right place for this,

I've moved from windows to linux (for good this time) and I need a replacement for ableton live, bitwig seems perfect so i got the demo to check however im having issues with my audio2dj external sound card, i installed the jack2 driver and jack shows up in preferences/audio but i cant get the audio2dj to work at all, i get the levels etc in bitwig but no sound. if i choose alsa then audio2dj it says "no supported format" and grays out the buttons etc. Choosing alsa then the onboard sound card does work fine, but id rather use the audio2dj.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
