Reaper midi note opacity

When using the midi editor how come it greys out some of the notes so much they can barely been seen? The notes that are circled in the screenshot are on the same track as the only slightly greyed notes. Is there some way I can make it not do that?

Its for editing multiple midi items in one window,you can choose to show or edit which tracks on the right

You're missing the point, I'm asking why it greys out some notes way more than others sometimes.

the track is set to visible but it greys out some notes way more than others and I can barely see them

It kinda depends on the color used for the note - they all get the same opacity level, but for some colors it looks as if it's more transparent than it actually is.


In any case, you have a setting for opacity of notes/CCs in secondary media items, check Preferences->Editing Behavior->MIDI Editor.

Dont think their on the same track,that's a different midi item been show,use the controls on the right to hide/show each track

What ED said (the colour of the notes kind of affects the perceived opacity), plus selected notes look like that because they are lighter and notes can remain selected in other tracks.

Correct. Selected/unselected state will also affect how the notes are shown after opacity reduction is applied.
