Internal connections... glued?!? Halp.

So, I bought my Receptor used, and it was an upgrade to a Rec 2 Pro Max from a Rev1 C.

I don't know if it was a user mod or how Muse normally does things to keep component cables solidly connected, but the internal connections are all hot or silicon glued together.

This includes the SATA cable and power lead attached to the drive.

If I want to swap out the drive, what's the safest of getting these things decoupled? I'm not enough of an electronics guy to know.

(This assumes I can get out the one remaining screw on the chassis cover which I stripped. Apparently Thor put that one on. :dog: )

hi
its only silicon just pull it of you wont brake anything just pinch it with pliers or your fingers. If you cant get the screw out just drill the head of.Use a grounding bracelett attatched to a pipe to guard against static if you are messing around with the receptors internal organs.

Thank you!

Yeah, was going to break out the drill (and safety goggles) for the screw. Just a bit of frustration there.

Ya. My T3io has the glue. I appreciated seeing it though I see I finally have to buy a glue gun when I clone my drive as I don't have a crafty wife.
