Good enhancements. I like the chord and arp players, I really hope rack extension SDK gets an upgrade too by the time of release.
I'd say the upgrade is worth $99, not $129 though.

Anyone know what features have been the most requested? And how many of those features will be in version 9? Was there ever a poll on Reason Talk?

PDC not there. Instruments and FX unit haven't got upgraded. Only pitch editor is requested one. For die hard Reason user it is a good upgrade considering PH don't give much. comparing Studio one update this upgrade is a jock.

I'm just waiting to see if there are any sequencer, piano roll and blocks enhancements.

Auto crossfades, import midi to SELECTED track. Some sort of ezdrummer/Addictive drums and Kontakt equivalent.

This is the type of stuff that will make me want to upgrade.

I'm assuming they are not just going to release a new version number for RE updates. That would make more sense for a .5 release.

One of my first questions was, will this new "player" format also be open for RE developers? Since for example the RE AutoTheory does pretty much the same kind of thing, it would probably fit better in this format.

Do we have to export the midi before using it? If so can we import said midi on a desired track?

I'm so pumped about this. I think this upgrade is going to be an awesome one. Reason was already fast as hell to compose in for me personally. A few of these features were the last on my list of things to seal the deal for working in Reason exclusively. And from what I read in the press release on the site, there are still even more workflow enhancements to come! Nice job on this one Props

From the video, it looks like it bounces to a new track, where it can be easily dragged/dropped to the desired track.

not sure what to say... Propellerhead is making it easier for the LESS talented to music... you dont have to know what key or chords that go with the harmony... personally, it took me years to understand scales and chord progressions... no need for understanding scales and/or chord progressions with Reason... just keep banging away until something sounds nice...

i always thought Propellerhead was NEVER concerned with there long term customers... their eye was always on New customers...

again... if i was starting out/newbie... Reason seems to be an ideal product... it basically does everything you want in a music making software product... with these new tools it appears Reason can go from idea to finished product with little to no knowledge about music... for SOME that sounds great... but, then we wonder what has happen to the music... i.e. watered down...

What kind of "sequencer, piano roll and blocks enhancements"? Can you list suggestions?

I don't know why having auto-crossfades but different curves like protools might be useful to some. I also believe you can just drop your MIDI file into any track.

NN-19, NN-XT, Kong and Redrum are already "some sort" of ezdrummer/Kontakt as they are all samplers and do their job perfectly.

I don't understand why people like to bash on upgrades to try to justify to themselves that the current product they own don't do it's tasks.

People need to be creative and actually use or find a different way to use the tools you have. If I want Propellerhead to release a feature "identical" to Kontakt, why not use Kontakt itself?
