This is really good. Thanksalot :tu:

I once had to return a Windows laptop because I had those Glitches running GuitarRig.
I bought a Macbook and never had any problems.
If I had <this great writing from Cantabile Software maker> I probably could have kept the Windows Laptop.

i've skimmed through the guide. most of it is OK, but it still perperuates this myth that disabling Aero increases performance. no it doesn't. when Aero is enabled, GUI processing is offloaded to GPU. disabling Aero means higher CPU load. that simple.

also, i'm not so sure setting processing priority to "background services" increases performance of DAWs. i'd expect quite the contrary - since DAW is in the foreground, and it's a program as far as Windows is concerned, setting priority to background services essentially means CPU will spend less time working on your DAW and more time doing some updates, or network folders refreshes, or what have you. this is just a hypothesis though, i haven't actually tested it - maybe it considers ASIO as "background service".
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

"Background services" tweak persists since the ages of Win XP. I think it stopped being useful since W7 onwards...

(But yes, ASIO is a background service.)

Yeah, most useful is the power scheme settings.
Disabling USB suspension helped a lot to tame down the DCP spikes. I'm using laptop the last year.
HP pro-book 6560 b with i5 and 6 GB of RAM.
Not sure about Core parking settings and Hyper Treading . Couldn't find it on my Bios...?

I have no DPC Latency spikes, but The DPC Latency is 900-1000 ms...
