inspiron 8200
p4 1.6 ghz
shipped with a stock 4200 rpm, 2mb cache 30 gb drive
which recently died. now am running a mk4026gax ( 5200 rpm, 16 mb cache, 40 gb drive)
running my same performance files i have a few more dropouts when playing some of my rendered sequences. no other hardware or driver setup has changed. can anyone think of what could be causing this?
i also noticed that my m-tron is dropping out randomly - it doesn't seem to be connected to how many notes i am holding down on the keys, as sometimes it'll drop out after less than half a second with just one note held.
i am at a loss. do i just need to defrag after dropping so many samples onto the new drive or what? this all seems very odd to me.
new hard drive in my laptop - more dropouts now =\

hi,
M-Tron is not reading on the Disk, I don't think it has the Streaming function, so, the HD is not the guilty one !
those little HD are very poxerfull normally...
Maybe it is a formatting problem (?)
or a RAM problem
