If that first version was only rebranded and not reworked it would be nice to get a hold on that one.

Actually. What I'm really looking for is

Cool Record Edit Pro was given away free the other day

If you can find the original demo it was only limited as to how many processes you could combine at the same time, if my memory serves me correctly

Again, the OP asked for the real Cool Edit Pro from 2003 (which is now Adobe Audition).

So, can you sort him out?

To answer this question: Yes, as said above the first version was really only rebranded.

ummm...I'm not trying to argue but what do you mean nope? I forgot you could get a 4-track version for an additional 49 bux but cool edit 2000 was one of my first audio software programs. I was hardware before I got my first pc in 2000 (even though I was 41 then), I had been in retail for years and got cakewalk home studio 9 pro (I think it was pro) which sucked. On the disk was a Fruity Loops demo and CE2k, I used both for quite a while (I bought FL producer) and when Adobe bought Syntrillium I got Audition off of a freebie for 99 bux and then I used AA with FL until 2007.

CE2k was awesome to mix down to when I used an HD recorder for tracking, then I really got into using FL for midi sequencing and a drum machine. Then I got AA and a better computer and had multi-track audio so I stopped using the HD recorder. (yes FL did have audio but I didn't like how it was laid out). That was a killer deal for me and a big step up for me, money was tighter then :)

there were (I think) free versions of Audition on the Adobe site when they went to a subscription model and discontinued the server that authorised the old versions. I have not been able to get Audition working on my win10 machine though. Worked fine on win8. Very disappointed as I had paid for it from way back and liked it a lot as an editor

Neither do i. Why do you think OP could meant cool edit 2ch when he already answered before you that he want to get a hold on Cool Edit Pro 2.1 resp Adobe Audition?

Holy shit, he may get to 5000 posts just in this thread!

Possible sigs: "You'll get cool edit pro over MY dead body!" or maybe "cool edit pro is dead as the chicken I ate last week"
