Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you all know about this free app I produce. Helps you find samples in your collection by scanning and auto categorising them. Also has an interactive randomised drum kit builder feature which can export to NI Battery.

You can check it out here:

It looks very interesting : thank you.
SampleSort is a sample navigation and search application for the Windows platform. It helps anyone working with large audio sample libraries to quickly build a database and then search their library in one easy view.

Free? Thank you!!! :tu: :)
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Post

No problem! Hope you find it useful.

still need to try it,like the idea about being able to select samples and export, for specific projects

RanDrum looks interesting.

I have found this app yesterday and I pretty like the UI but I get a lot of frustration with it too. Often I just don't get what is happening, is it loading something?
How do I know where is my database backuped?
Once I opened the program and it was empty. I don't know what to do next, should I rescan? I have pretty a lot of samples and I really don't like doing that.
I think UI should be blocked while something is happening. It's easy to press some buttons that does completely opposite from what you have just pressed.
Nice app but need polish.
And also add this to the KVR catalog, there is no this app under "Sampels Manager"

Thanks for your message.

I'm currently working on finalising a major new update to SampleSort. Lots of new features and lots of improvements, many along the lines of your description above.

Instead of a directory blacklist, can there be a whitelist model?

Post

Hi Yellowmix,

Yes the new version I'm working towards has done away with this model. It was too prescriptive for many users so I have already moved away from this model.

Post

Thank you, let us know when the new version is released. I could not use the previous/current version since I have many samples and it was picking up random files all over my entire system (e.g., sounds apps use for their UIs).

Are there any plans to support rx2 (REX version 2) files? Many people have loops in that format. Reason Studios provides a free SDK: https://developer.reasonstudios.com/dow ... r-products

No problem.

And yes there are plans to add much richer support for additional file formats, such as rx2, and closer integration with DAW applications over and above simple drag and drop / export.

Thanks for your interest as well.

I don't think I've seen this before. Will check it out. Thanks! :tu:
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

There are a few issues with the version currently available which have been addressed in the upcoming new release.

Thanks for your interest!
