A lot of the demo clips sound like acoustic kits but with effects on them (not referring to the background ambient music). Are these effects embedded in the clips, or are the clips dry?

All audio clips for Groove Capsule are not additionally processed (such as patches in ST2) so they would be in the sample. This is different than the usual SR approach and is more along the lines of other groove products out there. Flavors ready to go kind of thing. But there is a nice variety and there are natural kit grooves on there as well. A mix of a lot of things including some awesome ethnic percussion grooves as well. But, some slamming produced beats ready to go are in there. Not as flexible as using Studio Drum Capsule and doing your own programming but certainly a different kind of sound to be had. There's also separate beat slices with the associated midi files (REX broken into playable bits and sequencer control of tempo).
