Kore 2 Not seeing FM8, Massive presets pulling my hair out

I've got lots of presets, tons in fact, in KSD format.

I've got Kore 2 and set up the sounds folder area to find my KSDs, when it scans it sees them, but then hides them as "unavailable sounds". I've looked in lots of forums about unchecking the hide unavailable box then rescanning, doesn't work. When I add a path to the browser, it's basically only showing factory content.

I've also got ticked the "use newer versions" in the VST area (this worked before when I couldn't see the presets).

I'm also tying myself in bloody knots over where these presets are to go? Can anyone please walk me through this, and hopefully get my Kore2 to see the presets.

I had it working before, but stupidly I uninstalled Kore2 then reinstalled to fix a problem, but created a big other problem. :dog:

that's rather odd. where is your Standard User Path located, and what does your folder structure look like in there?
is your Bypass Integrated Engines checked?
do you see other user .ksd's that are not related to Komplete synths?
you're on pc or mac?

you have a "koredb" file in your root Kore folder, it weighs several megabytes (you may find another smaller one, ignore it), try to delete it from that folder (after backing it up just in case) and doing a full re-scan

Hi,

I'm on Windows 8 64 bit with Kore upgrade installed.

I've got my Standard User Path set to My Documents/Kore 2 in my attempts to fix the problem I put it there as a kind of reset of the database. The folder structure inside is

Performances/
Shared Content/Controller Pages/
Shared Content/Midi Files
Shared Content/Sounds/

All have nothing in the folders

My Bypass integrated engines is checked, I created some user KSDs by importing presets to 3rd party VST's they are all showing as presets.

I've specified User Sound Folders in the options to where other presets are held (which do work in other Komplete synths), but they're being listed as unavailable after a scan.

I'll try what you say with the koredb just now and report back. Thanks for your help :tu:

Hi I did that, and it's just the same unfortunately. Not adding the other KSD's

I have solved it!

I have no idea how this happened at all, but all my Komplete 32 bit VSTs were in a subfolder of my 64 bit VST Native instruments folder. Because Kore can only look at one VST folder I had it set to my 32 bit VST folder which didn't have the updated 32bit VST's. It was just reading the old versions that come with Kore2.

Wow, that took a long time to work out,but thanks for your help. :tu:
